Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gold_Member on 2006-11-25 at 13:38:35
Hey, I need to know how to have it where u can teleport a unit to another without the destination unit haveing a trigger next to it...kinda like you kno in dbz all sagas godly where if u step on ssj, ssj2, and so on...it'll have the ssj unit exactly where your original unit was no matter where you are. I tried to make the triggers, but I failed horribly... please helpsmilie.gif !!

Just center location on a hero at anywhere, then remove the hero and create your new unit at that location.

learn to do it yourself?

here are pseudo-triggers:

Condition:
brings unit to beacon

Actions:
center on 'original unit'
remove original unit
create SSJ at 'original unit'

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zeratul_101 on 2006-11-25 at 16:58:43
you can't 'put' triggers anywhere lol, as in they're not on the map. i thought this whole time i thought you just got the words trigger and location mixed up lol.

ADDITION:
triggers are just instructions for the map. its comparable to listening to instructions, you can't put the instructions anywhere, but yet they are still there(as in you remember them).

At first, I remember I used to always look under the C's for the action move location, since the sentence starts with "Center location..." but the action is actually "Move Location." This would be why you couldn't find it, even though zeratul worded the trigger out for you.

So ya, use the "Move Location" action. It checks a location (very often "anywhere") for the presence of a unit owned by a certain player, and if there is atleast 1 copy of that unit in the location owned by the correct player, it centers the location on the left-most one there.

So in the end, it would possibly looking something like "Center location (2x2) on ssj1 owned by current player at Anywhere."

Then just do, "remove 1 ssj1 at (2x2)," "Create 1 ssj2 at (2x2)."

And zeratul, you can put triggers into the map, if you use put as the action of creating them smile.gif I don't think he was ever confused on the idea of triggers and locations, anyways, though.

lol, he jsut kept talking about putting the trigger 'next' to the unit though.

He explained it poorly? I have no idea what you're talking about.. You don't put triggers anywhere.. I don't think you know what you're talking about mellow.gif

Wouldn't it be something on the lines of this?

Condition

Player 1 Brings Chooser to Location X

Actions

Create '1' SSJ at location 'Taco'
Move Location 'Taco' to all 'Goku' owned by Player 1
Remove all 'Goku' owned by player 1
Wait 200000 miliseconds
Create '1' Goku at Location 'Taco'
Move location Taco to all SSJ owned by Player 1
Remove all SSJ owned by player one.

This works for me when making any map. Although it might have to do with also using the move trigger because I never tried something that way before. Normally I use Hyper Trig's though.

ya velendesril, but in the dbz all sagas games theres a storage for the units, so it doesnt remove units it just moves them to a place on the map where u cant see, and I want it that way so they just cant revert when they have like 1 hp, then go back to the strongest form with full hp again instead of 1 hp.

Ya he explained it poorly b/c i couldn't understand. wink.gif

Hmm.. I wouldn't say that he explained it poorly... just not to the extent necessary.

So, any other issues, or does that solve it all?

Lord, don't poke on people for not knowing information in an assistance forum, especially when you ask so many basic questions yourself. Besides, it's a lot more efficient and organized to do that all in 1 trigger, anyways.

Someone close this topic.

srry, but I read everyones and no one could figure it out and i got it when i first read it. it is realy easy though, little advice, best way to find out what works is to just experiment with trigs.
