Report, edit, etc...Posted by Puddin on 2006-11-26 at 15:13:34
Hey, my Starcraft Campaign Editor (and SCMDraft2), they both create more than 1 unit, I put "Create 1 Overlord at Location", but when I played it, it created 2 overlords at that location, so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong or if there's a problem with my computer. Please help.. biggrin.gif

you're going to have to show us your whole trigger. including the owner

ps, it wouldn't be a problem with your comp, just a logic error on your part tongue.gif .

This problem happens if your trigger is for one player and you create the unit for another player. You chould change it so that all spawning for player 4 (as an example) is in P4s triggers. And current player is better to use than P4.

lol.
What kind of mapping knowledge is this?

a) Creating a unit for P2 in a trigger owned by P1 is perfectly fine.
b) CurrentPlayer is not better than PX at all. CurrentPlayer is useful when you have to copy triggers for several players, and in triggers that are owned by several players and/or one/several forces. PX is to be used if a trigger is owned by several players but the condition is only for that very player X.

Now on topic:
The most common mistake to create this kind of "bug" is that your trigger is owned by a force or several players (actually the same thing). That way, the trigger will be executed for every player that owns it (in a force all the players in that force), unless the condition becomes invalid.

Ok, I had it on for All Players, like "All players", "Create 1 Overlord for player 8", so is that what it is? confused.gif

My god... I can't believe the first two people to reply to this didn't get the right answer. I knew what was going on before even reading his post - "creates more than 1 unit" is an extremely common mistake.

It's good to see people trying to help, but supplying incorrect or inaccurate information can make problems worse...

Yeah, I will give you that. I just thought it was really obvious what the problem was. Asking for more info is never a bad thing though...as long as you ask for the right info, and you did =)
