Got another ramp problem. This time, though it's with the low platform -> normal platform. You can see it here:

I don't know if there's any good non-floor trap solutions to this one, though (though I'd accept one if I had to). If anyone has any good ideas for this, then I could sure use them. Crediting included, of course.

Man do I regret making this map run vertically instead of horizontally. pinch.gif

I tried this once, too, and my efforts were in vain. The best thing I can suggest is some combination of solar array and those few blueish walkable doodad tiles that you have on low platform. And it looks terrible.

That is for a straight approach. If you put tons of stuff around it, you MIGHT be able to find a completely different solution, but then it wouldn't be much of a ramp anymore wink.gif

Well, I consider those ramps on space to be some of the most impossible terrain things. The lack of blending possibilites is striking. I even doubt that people like Wooden yould pull off something there...

Yes blending with space is a pain. Unlike jungle and badlands which use lots of wishy washy tiles with alike patterns, tilesets like space and installation use more solid lines and specific shades, making blend options a lot more scarce.

I feel the power of the sprites are calling to me. They want a new slave. fear.gif

Hmm, I see your point. An unsitly gap of terrain to resemble a ramp but did'nt turn out so great. Well my opinion is make the ramp a bit wider and at the sides put the "Stair Walls" as i put it, at the sides of it. As for the floor you should put an invisable beacon or something that will make it less noticable.

An invisible beacon?

Cloaked beacon he means. Tux ill begin work straight away on this.

No I know, but what does a cloaked beacon do except smudge the underlying terrain?

And realize my map does use detectors. pinch.gif

If your solution to a terrain problem does not pertain to terrain, ie, "Cover it up with a sprite!", then it'd be better just to keep it out of terrain.

Tuxedo, you can blend the low platform to the normal platform in the backwards ramp manner, but it's not really a "ramp".

This is the best I could do with the sparse (and mainly useless) doodads supplied on the low platform:

I apologize if it's blocky, but I do not have red on my computer, and thereby I'm kind of handicapped.

I'm not too picky whether it's a ramp or not, so long as it works.

Actually, if that can be mirrored then that might be a winner. Got a brush?

Yeah you're right. I should be punished... if my map weren't already doing that for me. tongue.gif

Nice blend I like it. Could you show it's walkabilily in Draft's unit layer?
