Staredit Network -> Computers and Technical -> My StarCraft Disk wont play! HELP!

Okay, so I tried putting in my StarCraft disk, right? That worked fine. And of course, I have to wait a few moments before the StarCraft icon shows up in the E: drive. So wait a few moments, but the icon doesnt show up! Okay, so I waited for about 5 minutes, and guess what? IT STILL DIDNT SHOW UP!

Okay, so I went off to do something else for about an hour and check back to see if hopefully the icon has showed up. But it STILL didnt show up!! \

Okay, yeah! I get your little game! I try playing on an unmodded .exe file of SC(I use that to be able to play Brood War since I lost my original BW disk sad.gif ) to see if it works, but I get an error saying there's no disk in the E: drive!

Can somebody help me?!

Try cleaning it.

Even if the icon doesn't show up, try running it. Windows is loaded with little bugs like this.

Yeah, that works. I once fixed a 5 year old starcraft disc using the shirt I was wearing.

ya you can try cleaning it, if that is unsuccessfull, then try loading sc on a different computer...if that doesn't work, Check to see if your cd drive is working...if you got another computer or an extra cd drive laying around, then switch it into your computer and see if it works...if it doesn't work then try switching the wires/cords connected to the cd drive if you have some...if all that doesn't work then ur out of luck

If you get it to work once, burn a new copy or get something like VirtualDaemon and load it into a virtual drive.

Yup it does except it had one weakness....

You can't play mods with it

Here it is, its at the bottom were it says Bnet loader. You can't play campgains but it enables you to go on bnet without a cd for both versions.

And its not illegal because if you own the orignal cds then its not agaisnt copyright.

One time I had a sizable piece of dirt the size of a bacon bit ingrained in my WarCraft III CD. Luckily, I was able to pluck it out, and the disc was still playable.
