Hey everyone, i'm back from a looong break... now coming back I see starcraft has changed so much. But the worst part of it all is that none of my maps are playable on the new patch...i tried using OSMAP to unprotect them and fix them but the maps just come out so corrupt...i can really use some help on this...please PM me if you can help
What program did you use to lock them? If you used uberation you could've used a password, and although OS map will open them, it often mixes strings and messes maps up. And it seems you already know but the reason your map isnt working is because you have stacked text in the map name. Did you keep any unlocked versions of your maps? If so then just change them so they work with the new patch, then copy them, lock one of the copies, then release that on battle.net since all the others ones are obsolete now.
I think it was GUEdit.
I had unprotected versions but they're long gone by now. It was hard enough getting the protected versions. =\
Then I think your pretty much screwed, did you ever back-up your maps to Sen?
You could use OS map, but you will have quite a few bugs that will be much more difficult to fix than a few trigger bugs.
If your maps are actually unplayable in the new patch, it would be because of overlaps in the map title. Just edit your unprotected versions of your maps to take out the map title overlaps and reprotect them, and you'll be fine.
Also, things that the map is still playable with but just look ugly. Overlaps don't work in the force name anymore either, and the invisible mark from before in-game doesn't work.
EDIT: SEN doesn't support unprotection, so I took out that reference I made. Back up your maps from now on, and always keep unprotected versions.
If it is really only because of the stacked names, get a hexeditor and modify those strings.
There used to be an unprotector that completely screwed everyone over until ProEdit came out. Back then GUEdit was the only means of protection, and if you used that, it was a LONG time ago. I doubt you'll be able to find it, it was made by VoidArchon or some sort. Google. If you can't find it, try hex editing.
Heimdal made that program. Archn took credit for it, put his name on it, and made it public. It could unprotect both GUEdit and SCMtookit, and was much more widespread than OSMAP is now.

Haha, thanks for that...I was about to get kinda mad.
But yeah, if your problem is really just the overlaps in the map title it won't be too hard to remove those without unprotecting anything. Just post the maps and I'll have a look at them.

How did Archn manage to put his name on the program and spread it? did you guys make it together?
Hell no. I had given it to a couple close friends...one of them gave it to someone else, and so on. Eventually it got into Archn's hands. He opened the .exe with a hex editor and changed all instances of my name into his name.

o that sucks...Talk about a betray of friendship
Ah, sorry about that Heimdal. I had a feeling it wasn't VA (hence the hesitance) but nonetheless, I doubt the person could still get a hold of it, unless of course he's resorted to hex editing his maps.
