My finished Trojan War map has been approved:

*This is my second map with the editor and I'm using standard editor, so it might not be as good as the ones beefed

Why you say the same things 2x times?

There are lots of Troy maps out there, and this wasn't much different. It's clean, but nothing special.

Yes, starcraft has been around for years. Obviously anything that could be created via staredit already has been created.

ADDITION:
besides, what I need is "constructive" critcism that'll help me improve...not just saying my map is cliche

Haven't had a chance to play it yet as I am at work, but I do have a few suggestions:

-You might consider making yothe Trojan Horse a bigger factor since you seem to be following the movie outline. I would suggest having it work as a sort of bridge into the city. Perhaps when its moved up to the wall it could allow units that moved to it to move to the other side of the wall... provided their was space on the other side.

When you say interchangeable heals do you mean ones that can be used by both sides? And unlimited? Because I can see that causing a problem especially if the heals are instant though I don't know if they are since I haven't played the map yet and you didn't specify in the description.

How many human players is this map for? And what roles are available to take on? If you can be more specific on that in the description here it would add to the overall quality appearance of your map to people as they read about it which might get more to play it and offer you feedback.

^ Healing as in your allies can use yours and vice versa. Enemies can't use them. Also, destroying the temples next to the heals will nullify the healing effect. And I was thinking of the wall thing as a ladder of sorts (similar to Helm's Deep maps) but I had 3 walls, which is really tricky for triggers...and I'm using regular sc-edit instead of beefed up ones such as starforge.

Ah well you should take advantage of the extra features that special editors allow. Your map will still work fine on battle.net :-). Anyways I finished a game as the Greeks which I lost... storming the final palace area at the end.... after thinking we had won killing another palace. But anyways a few things I noticed:

-There is almost no wait time on the briefing... no way to actually read it... remember 1000 milliseconds equals 1 second... think about how many seconds are required to read your briefing because I don't think it even scrolled the bottom of the end up on the screen for me.

-One of the Greek players left...greatly hindering our chances of winning (he left early too) but still the Greeks pressed on and almost won. Anyways it would be a good idea if players that left had their units given to their allies and perhaps even their reinforcements?

-Mention the masser somewhere in the briefing.. or somewhere... I had no idea about it until about halfway through I was too busy control grouping my men towards the walls... but then maybe it was in the briefing that was too fast for me to read. Still gameplay was fun, I have a much better idea of what to do now that I know taking out certain sections reduces enemy reinforcements.

You can click Mapping -> Download DB -> Edit your Files and then upload the more updated version of your map over the old outdated one. You can also make your description more informative editing too.

btw, am I suppose to get maps reviewed?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PCFredZ on 2007-01-21 at 18:00:33
You can if you want. Some people never get around to it and their maps are never reviewed because they must be requested by the mapper personally.
