-----Switch-----
This map requires a little brain power! Switch all the Blue Stones to Magic Stones by moving your Switcher (Zergling) in and out the squares. There are 16 squares in total. Every time you enter a square, it switches the Stone. If there is a Blue Stone, it switches to a Magic Stone. If there is a Magic Stone, it switches to a Blue Stone. This isn't as easy as it sounds. Try it out!
NOTE: This is just a testing map. If I get good feedback from it, I will take this map much further.

oO sounds interesting, I'm gonna take a go at this in my free time, since I enjoy solving puzzles and riddles.
cool, thx. stop by again and tell me what you think. maybe it has potential?
Someone has also made a map with the same princip a long time ago.
But he made it with a Korsar.
I think the map is in the Experimental Folder in the Download-DB
First time took me 1 min 30 sec to beat the whole thing, you need more levels, and make them harder where you have like 8 magic crystals at the start or something
Needs to be mind-numbing and make me want to crack my head on my desk after getting stuck on a level. One of the best puzzles on starcraft, but it can still be improved!
Wow, this is definitely a good idea. Map is very clean and does not irritate the eyes. Looks very professional. Sadly, though, it took me about 1 minute to finish the game. Anyone with an ounce of sense could beat it, which will make it last about a month on battle net. To make a lasting map that is fun and challenging, make levels much harder and mroe of them. I think I just repeated what the guy above me said. Sorry.

Yes it is pretty easy if you decide to make a second one add walls and stuff to make it harder to beat and maybe a 3rd type of crystal. That might cause a little bit more confusion
overall this was a nice idea that was pulled off pretty well
wow the feedback has been great. thanks guys. your right, it is really easy. i like the idea of introducing a new crystal. ill post a new topic if i decide to have a good go at it. thanks again.
Heh, I really like this map. But much like the others, I beat it in no longer than a minute... You could make it for the last level or something, if you bring your zergling to a square twice you die. Idk, something to make things more interesting... =D
Very excellent concept, very professionally made, excellent overall presentation, but too short and very easy.
Take this idea and expand on it. A lot! A third crystal would make things much more interesting...
You know what this reminds me of? A game called "pod". You had to eliminate every spot by walking over it a different amount of times depending on what colour it was. Perhaps you could incorporate a similar idea?
Nice map, but needs expansion.
How about putting gates beetween the sectors, forcing you to only go one way? I have found a way of cracking all the levels easily buy zig-zagging down the rows... do you get me?
Ohh, you could have gates spawn behind where you just came from, stopping you from going back! That would change things up a lot...
You could also add teleporters that teleport you around the crystals which would make it a TON harder
Mabye even several seperate different shapped maps
That would be fun.....
Also what about having say, 6 maps and having a race beetween them in multiplayer mode? Even teamed multiplayer?
This could get good
I downloaded it, but I won't be able to try it until later. When I do I'll try beat these guys' times. >:D

lol
EDIT: Well, I got around to playing it. The idea isn't new, but to my knowledge it is certainly new to StarCraft. However it seemed to me that the levels for the most part were too easy, and there weren't enough of them. Also, the way it was set up, it was difficult to control; the zergling kept wanting to take the long way around and often touched crystals I didn't want to touch.
I am interested to see where this goes, though.
guys you've all been really helpful. i'll start working on this map when I complete my current map, Dirty Bound, and i'll consider everything you've said. thanks again. i won't be on the net for a few weeks though.
Bah.. don't let a bound sidetrack your work on this creative map ;-). I haven't had a chance to play yet but from the reviews and description it sounds fun... though apparently too easy... I'll try and confirm that later
.
lol yes, since i started switch, ive had alot of other stuf goin on. got a job as a computer programer now, so dont get much spare time. and bin workin on like 3 other maps. i wil get round 2 workin on this map eventually, as the feedback has bin gr8.

lol, this is exactly what everyone was saying about the other one like it that was made, it seems that all these puzzle maps are very easy to beat

Have you ever played "The Puzzling"? Crazy hard.
Too short and too simple. But its still OK
Good concept
Too easy.
A good way to find a hard is to just start with all the same color crystal, then just run around randomly across the board for a minute, then take that setup and make it the starting setup
Or put like spider mines on the sides of a crystal, to indicate it only changes when coming from that side.
Like, u have a crystal that has spider mines above and below. If u come from the left of it, the crystal stays the same, but if u come to the crystal from the section above it it changes
ok that sounds good. thanks for your ideas. ive had a thought. maybe i'll implement a system which allows u limited amount of moves? so 1 square = 1 move. just an idea, but im going to start working on this map after my current map, the cube.
It was fun but I beat it all pretty easily.. the only one that really involved any extra thought was level five. My time for beating it on fastest was 3 minutes and 17 seconds. (Which is actually less than that time in real life since it was on fastest). Its single player...bleh... maybe if it was multiplayer and you raced other people to beat all the switches first... now that would be pretty cool
. Also I like Sarge's randomization idea.
ok ive made a few decisions. il make it a multiplayer map. the levels wont be set, but randomized each time a new round begins. you race against other players to finish each round, and whoever gets to a number of points first, wins. however, it needs a little more flavour than that, which is why im going to browse back through the feedback and implement one of the systems previously suggested.
