As some of you probably already know, I am making an RPG called The Awakening. My last post was a bit dodgy, so in this one, I set the record straight.

Full Version Released: Date not set
I now fixed the template on this map, and it is now easier to understand.
Title
The Awakening Episode 1
This galaxy is under great threat- Those who can't fight the darkness, shall be consumed by it. A great evil is emerging in the far, outer reaches of the Galaxy. If this evil spirit is released, it shall mean doom to all mankind. Zevvinos, a great evil sorcerer has a plot. An evil plot to release the spirit of darkness. This man must be stopped. Even now, he is plotting for the worst to happen. There is only one person who has the power to stop all this madness, and his name is - Kor-AAAA! The High Judicator just got assasinated by one of Zevvinos's minions.
Meanwhile, on the planet Nuiros...
Schutod: Jason Korath, for crimes againt our people, you shall pay the ultimate price. Prepare to be banished to - THE WASTELANDS!
Korath: You know it Schutod! This is unfair! This madness must stop! I'm telling you- 'Stab.' 'rustlerustle'
Korath just got tranquilized and stuffed into a crate.
You wake up on a cold and snowy ground. Realising your fate, you begin to walk as fast as you could towards the only thing you could see- A tall cliff. As you progress further through the bitterly cold winds, your legs finally give in. You fall to the ground. Your head hits something, but it's not sand. You scrape away the snow to reveal a black asphalt road. You begin to follow it into a cliff ridge......

If you have any quotes, post them here.Interesting story. I'm mostly interested in battle stimulations. Can you give us more information on it?
Good luck on the map.
Battle sims, (I haven't really worked on it yet, its just an idea) is a virtual reality program you enter in Ep 1. What is meant to happen is that the machine gets stuck in simulation mode and you have to beat the vurtual reality program to escape. Things that include in this are cinematics, battle arena's and possibly the most interesting, a melee style battle with a choice between Zerg, Terran and Protoss.
This is still an idea, and I haven't put it into practice yet. If you have anymore suggestions, post an idea. I'm trying to make this an RPG that everyone will like.

Heh, seems like the introduction of Star ocean, but it's still good since no one really used it on starcraft maps. I hope you're not using zerg, terran, and protoss name units on the rpg though. It would be more like a starcraft rpg. Unless it is?
No, it will have different names. Zerglings are already called Morkads and Hydras are called Acid Drones. I'm still yet to come up with more names.

ADDITION:
If anyone who is good at mapping needs something to do, I'm looking for someone who is good at mapping in general (Landscaping, triggers, voices)
Any assistance is appeciated

Wow, voicing. That wouldnt really be good. Wastes some strings and would take forever to download. If this is going to be a team project, look for the team project subforum.
Seems interesting, just fix the first post. It looks so unorganized.
What do you mean by that?
I've improved the template now, now it makes more sense.
Sounds decent enough. Wish you luck on this project. Like your ideas.
If you use sound try and get some expert help. Some campaigns have made an awesome use of sound (Celestrial Irruption, among others) but others...sound just bogs up the file and the voicing/use is poor. So try and make sure your sounds are good and not just there to be there.
I've had a thought about voicing anyway, that would make the file way too big and it would take forever to download.
ADDITION:
I've decided to scrap my demo now, it's jut way too buggy and I actually started making the map before I got SF 2.2 and SCMD, so that stuffed it up as well.
The trailer is still coming, though.

good to see some progress. If you mean voice 4 trailer, that would be okay. I think you should use voice for trailer only
I'm a bit confused... You said that there would be very advanced triggers and other advanced stuff, then you ask for help and other stuff...Don't bite off more than you can chew.
I know basically everything about triggers, there is normally a few tweaks left over that I don't get. I've only just got SCMD2 a month ago, and that's the editor i'll be using to make the map, with a few changes with SF2.2, which I also got a month ago. All of the new AI's are strange to me still, such as cast recall and nuke, I've done all of the requirements, but it doesn't work out well.
What I mean by advanced triggers is the many ideas I have in my map which will require advanced triggers, such as hypers and looping switches.
This looks like a very interesting map....I'm just wondering where you got the ideas and the names from. Once it's finished I'm sure it will be very popular... If you need a tester just PM me on Battle.Net
Sure, that will be for the actual RPG when I finish it.
ADDITION:
The trailer for this RPG has now been released. It might be a day earlier than usual, but I had finsished and tested the map enough before the release date. You can check it out in the Showcase forum or the DLDB, when I get the map accepted.
ADDITION:
What do you think is the best spell system to use for this map. I know that the beacon system is a waste of locations and same with movement and peons, so I'm turning more towards the Dropship system. What do you think?
Use a gateway or barracks system. It's 1 location, and you can have different casting times and costs for the different spells.
Hmm, interesting system. Starports would be better, they support 5 units. And to explain what unit corrosponds to a certain spell, you could use a certain doodad next to a flag.

Can use gateway n starport if more then 5 spells =/
I'm going to use a Starport Spell system for now, but if there are any better systems, tell me.
