I just thought it was interesting how all SC horror games take place on deserted places, such as a deserted island or in the middle of nowhere. I think the best, and scariest map would be one pulled off in a city, because you can add a large story to it with tons of characters while still throwing it together.

Simply put, when your in an area that's populated with many people.. it's not that scary... unless, well, maybe like no one payed attention to you when something horrible happened. Being cut off from everything is scary.

Not true! That is where the basis of a game could be! In the middle of a crouded city, someone, who looks like everyone else, is hunting you. It would be impossible to tell who it is, so it would be that much harder!

BTW, I am using suggestions from this post to create a new horror title I hope works right. There will be large crounds to allow the killer to blend in as players roam around trying to escape! I was also thinking of allowing the killer to have a power to take over the minds of people around him and use them to kill. It should be interesting, or atleast exciting!

If you made a couple players the same colour it would be better.. maybe have 2 or 3 different colours total in the map with a neutral comp on each colour and the rest all distributed among them with random start locations so you don't know by their slot what they'll become! biggrin.gif

For colors, I was thinking making the stalker/killer a neutral one with the bot, and the players red, all of them so that they can't tell each other apart! You know what would be better? If I made everyone the same color, but all the civilians looked like certain units and the players were always one unit labeled PLAYER, then the killer could turn into one of them and sneak around unnoticed! Maybe tricking people who think they are with their friends into an allee where he turns back and kills them!

BTW, I like the name Infinion Red right now, I don't know why....

You could make the people who arnt the killer also be able to change into diff units (not the same as killers) and have different areas around a city where there are different types of units (so they can hide) because it already sounds to easy for the killer.

Who said it would be easy for the killer? I plan to have things the victims can hide under, and there will be places with like those wierd birds and trees, kinda like Hide and Seek 3! Besides that, people will be able to open and close doors on eachother....Like, there are two beacons on each side of the door. When a person steps on one, it opens (This is when no one has opened it before). Then, they go on the other side and shut it. It will auto lock unless the player allows them in. Otherwise, they have to blow the door down!

I just want to see how this works out, because horror games like this usually don't work well on SC. I made something KINDA like it, and it was fun, but it had tons of bugs...and people just did not find it fun!

All I'm trying to do with this map is bring the fun into being the tagger, as that is what this is more like, except people just die!

It should be interesting to watch things labeled "car" run around! Maybe I should make it that people can get run over if they are not careful...lol...

Anyway, the killer is randomly picked to blend him in and make it harder to tell who is a friend and who is not!

LOL! Stealing cars would be fun! Like, they have to get a guy on a beacon somewhere else, and then I could make it that they can steal cars even if the car is running down a street...and able to run you over! This map will be funny, because newbs to it will get ran over time and time again, and question how they died!

An interesting idea is making half the population of the map look like the killer unit and the other have the hunted unit. All you would have when he comes near is you a warning when he enters a locations big enough to fill four screens. And even then, which way is he coming from?

a scary effect would be like have ur main person in a crowd of normal ppl like civillians and then suddenly have em die and blow up and turn them into zombies that would be totally unexpected kinda like in haunted amusement park map but scarier the mass blood was kewl o.O

i like the idea of having keycards like datadiscs that u search for in like an installation to open up doors and stuff like duke nukem

My friend is making a map... similar to this, except your spies and well... your spys... and it's two... teams... Yeah...

hey! wut about like resident evil games on ps2 or w/e. like, Resident Evil Outbreak, they have thousands of people running when your in streets. and wut about Jack's bar they have like 10 people in there and its still scary

All you need for a good horror map is good terrain, theme and music/sound effects.
there are so many posibilities for a horror map theyre endless.

reminds me of the thing but sounds a lot better u should make them able to hide triggers to enter buildings and stuff like that good luck if u make the map

i am trying to make a map kind of like resident evil but i need a good storyline(i dont wanna take resident evils) i want it to be real scary!!! muwahaha!! biggrin.gif
