You don't.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kookster on 2007-01-07 at 04:00:42
you would have to use a un protector, cause SI sever implimented the un protector for SCMDraft.

Where can I find an unprotector??

Not here, and anyone who tells you here will face suspension. So go elsewhere.

i accidentally protected all my backups of one of my own maps and was unable to open it... I started to redo it but ended up just giving up, stuff is never as good the second time around

that was back when I was using a different editor tho.. I still use it to protect my maps though cause I cant find the feature on scm draft

anyway, if this is what you did just store a backup copy of it far far far away from the ones your actively working on, heh

A good unprotector is OSMAP. You can download it at the site in my signature.

You don't want to get involved in this. Trust me.

Also in case you haven't noticed Urmom(U)'s post disappeared.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't even know mods could remove individual posts...

For moderators theres a delete button on every post. When you are high enough rank (rank as in member, regular, elite, etc) then you can delete your own posts. Like I can go back and delete my post up there right now if I wanted.

Unprotecting maps actually is a sideeffect of good loading algorithms. SCMD2 might be cancelling map load once it detects protection, actually, even though the algorithm itself might be able to open the map.

I'm pretty sure most map 'unprotection' is actually the program going through checking and repairing each section of the chk file where necessary. If it were as simple as 'loading' a map properly then Staredit could be used to unprotect maps.

not really.... a good map editor loading function will load TILE and ISOM, not MTXM and nothing wink.gif

A good map editor guesses doodad tile values and regenerates ISOM the best it can from MTXM.

(yes I'm joking)

Well, if TILE and ISOM are not present, it is not laoded, simple as that tongue.gif Will get a little ugly if you try to apply an ISOM-brush on that, though biggrin.gif

I dont know how you are doing it, but normally you shouldn't load a map without tile because it was corrupted / damaged. The only reason to do it is because SF default save omitted that data for a while.

Always depends on how you are going to modify that map. Ever considered modifying TILE, MTXM and ISOM seperately? Yes I know it's not very useful wink.gif I actually don't care much about if the map is corrupted or damaged - just hope to catch protection, though happy.gif

The maplantis links.

I don't see what's wrong with having a link to another starcraft editing forum.
