Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Making Transmission Red Circle Like Rush
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pac_man on 2007-01-07 at 17:36:33
Ok Tuxedo Templar surely surprises me with the Red Circles in his movie map Rush 1.00. I want to know how he did it for assisstant smile.gif. However, if noone else knows how to do it, or Tuxedo Templar is not willing, I am okay by it.

Seems as if you burrow zerglings and then use the Transmission action... I tried it but did not get the same results however ways I tried (about 2 hrs long).

As you know, a magician never reveals his secrets, so I am not pressurizing ANYBODY to show me how to do what Tuxedo Templar did...

yeh i believe your supposed to get an enemy unit..

example: in Rush Tux put burrowed zerglings that were owned by the opposing force, therefore when a transmission came it was red rather than yellow.

however, when I did allie theress nothing tongue.gif lemme try again and i'll report back

ADDITION:
my gosh the thing does not work on snow terrain!

MORE ADDITION:
I just realized that the map I was making it in didn't work because I started off with StarForge and had inactive players... I had to use a splicer to get my tiles to another map tongue.gif

Why do you need any tiles? Why not just use a plain badlands map for testing?

Try the opponent thing.

Tux doesn't use zerglings, he uses lurkers. Wouldn't think that would make any difference though... And yeah, you should use badlands or jungle for testing.

No i think he used zerglings, at least, he did in the trailer. And no it would not make a difference.

Wait so over all how can you get it to work like the whole thing on it

simple, burrowed ling for enemy. Transmission from the enemy unit. Now unless you want sounds with it, your gona need a null sound. To get a null just open sound recorder, even if you don't have a mich. Click record and then click stop. load the sound blah blah blah.

And about the magician never revealing secrets, that's what CSMap is all about, Tux isn't part of CSMap (thankfully). If you want to see what he did just open the map in staredit, or whatever, and look for the commented trigger you need. Note that in a map like mechnogears, he has made really complex triggers which all reference about 30 deathcounters, with about 4500 triggers. In those cases, it's just best to ask. But 'Rush' was rather easy to find stuff.

guyz... it doesn't work after I use starforge... I guess starforge has some kind of glitch. Try making map with sounds + triggers + tiles + starforge. It worked in snow at first... But w/e I found a new way to go around it although I lost a pretty good feature...
