Perhaps we could consider having an Rp contest...As others have said SEN needs new stomping grounds (Not sure who said that lol).

The SC RP community is large but unappreiciated. It also is a very good style of map to make for those good with extended terrain. Id highly reccomend such a contest.
I believe Sie is an accomplished RP maker, so theres one. But im sure there are others.

Well, personally I don't like RPGs all that much. I mean, they're better than STRIP HERMOINE or most defense games, but I personally prefer things like Heroes of Might and Magic or Build Tug o' War or Battlecraft.

Maybe you could just make an RP map with the theme of the monthly contest?
Also I don't think many people here at SEN create RPs, so there's really no need for a DLDB catagory. I'm sure most people put them in 'Other'.

You can actually start your own Rp contest if you want, in Updates and Contests. Laser_Dude I believe hosted a mini-modding contest there. Don't expect a lot of people though.

Wait...are you talking about those ones like Dragon Nest and Path of a Jedi and all that? The RPGs where you have one or a few tough units and go around killing stuff for experience? That's the most common kind, the kind I was referring to. On the other hand there are also those weird maps where all you do is make up a story and act it out, and no one ever wins. Is that what you're talking about, then?

RP = Role Play
Examples: Volcs World, Sie's maps like Star Wars RP, Feyvern is a new one.
An RP is a game with no set victory or loss conditions, you can spawn any unit and the map follows a theme. Usually future space or past medevil/magic. You create your own cities and heros with other players and make your own story.
Its like D&D but everyones a DM.
Also: The maps arent weird. I just believe some players dont have the mental capacity or imagination to form their own free running story, and do so with others. This is fine, but the RP community is still there and still needs to be recognized.

Rps are about as silly as Rpgs...ur following a made up story about goblins, marines, etc.

Trust me, I don't lack imagination or mental capacity. It's just that I've never played any of those maps, and as far as I can tell they're about as far from standard UMS maps as it's possible to get- so far that they really require a different mood to enjoy properly. They're the opposite of things like rEaVaR dAfEnSe; rather than having a goal and no story, RP maps have a story and no goal. While that might be fun at times, and I don't want to ruin anyone else's enjoyment, usually when I log onto battle.net and hit the 'join' button, I'm looking for something I can actually win or lose.

In a Rp you are acting out a story instead of following a story made by the creators. It may sound foolish but I say its better than doing trigs
