ok i was having small problems

P3: always, run ai xpansion terran area town at ".....", preserve trigger

P3 has:
-start location
-command center
-50 minerals
-one enemy with buildings and units
-4 scv's
-mineral fields are close by

and P3 has only 2 scv's mining minerals. why doesn't the other two scv's mine the minerals. they just sit there like ducks and don't do anything
am i missing something?

Do you have 4 mineral chunks within the range of the location?

To fully understand AI scripts you would have to check out AI lists or the AI Script Editor Program that is now outdated. I'm not exactly sure where you can find these resources, try the DLDB.

AI scripts at location force computer players (and sometimes players using xtra-ai scripts) to do a set amount of commands as long as a condition or action has been met or has not yet been met. I couldn't find the program in my back-up harddrive so unfortunately I can't tell you specifically what you are doing wrong in that particular AI script. But...

As a quick fix, why not try running another AI scripts until it does what you want it to do?

You also have to note that many of the scripts don't actually do what you would expect even though they are named a certain way. Trial and error always sets you in the right direction.

You don't need to preserve trigger.

The area town AI scripts make the computer build a Command Center/Nexus/Hatchery if given enough minerals, do nothing but mine, and defends itself when under attack. In other words, it create a mining-only base.

Use the custom and easy->insane AI scripts instead.

And once you do use the custom or insane scripts, be sure to set the computer's race to Terran.
