Reward : Full of gems and 1 rune (of random quality!)

Purpose :
1- Active the 3 switch by touching them (they are protected by 3 mini-boss : The Grand Vizir of Chaos + Lord De Seis + The Infector of Souls)
2- Kill Diablo
Reward : The password to unlock the Act 5 + the password to increase the difficulty level!

[Act5] : Lord Of Destruction [Harrogath]
(Quest 1) Siege on Harrogath
Purpose : Kill Shenk the Oversever
Reward : You can add a crimp place (maybe it's the wrong word... I don't know... it's the place on a weapon where you can incrust gems and things like that) and it's less expensive to buy items
(Quest 2) Rescue on Mount Area
Purpose : Release 3 groups of 5 barbarian
Reward : Qual-Kehk gives you 3 runes + allow you to engage mercenary
(Quest 3) Prison of Ice
Purpose : Find Anya
Reward : Anya will give you a resistance parchment (+10 on all resistance) + give you a class specific item + open a portal to teleport yourself at the Nihlathak's Temple
*Malah give you +30 in each resistance when you have finished that quest in the 3 difficulty levels
(Quest 4) Betrayal on Harrogath
Purpose : Kill Nihlathak
Reward : It rename an object of your choice by adding your name at the beginning of the name of that object
(Quest 5) Rite of Passage
Purpose : Kill the 3 boss at the Arreat Summit (when you tuch the Altar of the Heavens, the 3 boss appear (Madawc the Guardian + Korlic the Protector + Talic the Defender))
Reward : Depending on the difficulty level :
Normal : + 1,4 million XP
Nighmare : + 20 million XP
Hell : + 40 million XP
But there is some conditions to do that quest :
In Normal level, you need to be at the minimum of level 20.
At Nighmare, it's 40.
And some precitions :
- You cannot gain more then 1 level when you receive all that experience
- You can do that quest only 1 time!
And at the Hell difficulty : 60!
(Quest 6) Eve of Destruction
Purpose : Kill Baal
Reward : The END! + password to increase the difficulty level!

Act 2 - Q2 : Horadric Cube is gonna be a big part in that project! (combinations of objects to get others, etc... maybe we should just let the Horadric Cube to "reconstitue" objects that you need in other quests)
Act 2 - Q3 : Except the Blind effect that we will need, there is nothing complicated... and even... but I want it just to obligate people to do that quest (else, they gonna be blinded for the rest of their life! MWAHAHAA!).
Act 2 - Q4 : Nothing to say... except that it's kinda useless...
Act 2 - Q5 : Horazon's spells (ice, fire)
Act 2 - Q6 : Duriel spells (poison, slow down) / specification : he is slower than us / and the terrain is cool and nicely mixed...

First of all, I want to have a team... of more then 2 members tongue.gif
And after, I've got to finish the list of the Quests, then, I'll have to do the list of the Monsters and the Boss, and also the list of the Spells. Oh! And the list of heroes... biggrin.gif
Then, we will determinate wich things we cannot adapt/do and these type of things.
After that, we need a terrain maker (Tuxedo-Templar, CAN YOU HELP US!?) and THEN, we will start to discuss about triggers...

You have any ideas for that?

For my part :

Town Portals : Bring you back to your city, and then, when you go in it again, it disappear and you have been teleported to the place where you have open it. Precision : If someone else go in your town portal, it doesn't delete it and you still can go in it.
Effects :
Kakaru Death = When you open it
A zealot that die permanently = When it's open
A scarab explosion + An hallucination puff (when no more energy) = When you close it
How : When you open one, you can enter in it. Then, when you come back in it, from the city, it "delete" itself automatically. All that, with switches (or maybe it's possible without).
Wearing system (Equipment) :
How : All the object that you have on you, but that you doesn't use, are placed in a certain place of the map, all immobilized. To wear one, you have a Dark Archon wich you just have to Mind Control the object to wear them.
A drop item system : TO DO AT THE END!
How : With fulllllll of switch, that's the only way I see... or pre-programmed item drop based on the monsters that you have killed
Potion system : Mana, Life, Renovation, anti-poison effect, anti-ice effect, etc...
How : Each potion is placed on a 1x1 square. To use it, move it to the 1x1 other square.

Best TP - Center a location next to the player for the TP, and CONSTANTLY (And I do mean everyone friggen millisecond ;P) create a Archon and blow one up.

The player can walk on it and it looks sexy. Also for a more complex approach, create 30 observers and order them to the center. Very sexy.

I got an idea for bosses. First of all, I wouldn't think Infested Kerrigan would be big enough. Just think about it. If every single boss is smaller than yourself, it wouldn't look a lot like Diablo at all. Make the bosses something bigger. For different movement speeds, why not use a unit the boss follows? Like a cloaked reaver, which makes the boss move slowly, while a wraith would make it move quicker. It would only require 1 arbiter somewhere.

Yes, 256x256! For only 1 Act... but I've though about it... there is plenty of WP in Diablo... we won't even have enough place to do all the differents maps of each Act... should we separate the Acts in 2 part? Maybe 3? Or 4!
That would makes, with :
2 part : 10 maps
3 part : 15 maps
4 part : 20 maps!
4 part would rocks! Imagine all the place we would have... the only thing that would be buggy : open the other part of the Act after finishing the first quests... it's gonna be long...
So... what do we do for that? And we also got to make the players have the same level and all these type of things...

Somewhat, but it makes it a lot simpler to find information (instead of paging down the long lists and sections on the old thread, ugh).

Separating the game into more than one map would make it so you lose every single item each time you start a new map, unless you use a saving system. If you were planning on a saving system, you couldn't trade items and people could just cheat to get items (not to mention all the extra work). So, making multiple maps seems pointless.

There is nothing wrong with keeping it on one map...

I can do some spell triggers and you could just import them into the map, you'd have to change a few things with locations and sounds, though.

I want a list of spells to work on. I want to get a couple done tonight, too.

Spells for the sorceress (maybe the names are false) :

Fire walking - When you put that on, depending on your level, the is a find everywhere where you run (like if everywhere your feet tuch, it burn)
Fire ball - Fire ball...
Statix - Reduce of x% the monsters that are around the sorceress (x depending on your level). When you cast it, there is a blue circle that appear around you and it increase of size... this animation is FAST)

Ok... it's gonna be too long, there normally 90 spells for each character... go there OR http://www.diabloii.net/characters/map.shtml to see what are the spells of each character...
Try to do the most basics one first... you know, the one we gonna use the most in the game... like Fire ball, 2 hits (barbarian), Skelleton recall (necromancer), etc...

P.S. Don't do the spells like Jump and Jump n' Attack (barbarian), because as I know, they are impossible to do, or at least, they will need full of triggers...

Make the bosses virtual monsters!!

Also, I like how you said you need pro's only working on this map, what defines a pro in your eyes? somebody with recognition on SEN? I also don't see Tuxedo_Templar to be that great no offense to him, he is mainly special effects and cinematics.

Also, If you are going to make a D2 map, make the map exactly the same to the game, all the spells, all the bonuses, enemy names and item names and such, otherwise this will just be another corny rip off not worth playing.

Won't be EXACTLY the same thing... but we want like the same monster's name, boss name, city name, PCP's name, etc... Also same terrain for the Act... we won't do all the items... it would be kinda impossible... but, yep, would be possible... but imagine the number of switch we would need to use...
What's a virtual player? Like the CC in Rush from Tux?
