Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> Modding Assistance -> .GOT issues

OK, not too long ago I made a map, that through triggers, uses deathcounts to change the number of mins mined per chunk. I set up my triggers in SCMDraft 2, used Staredit to make a .trg, then used gotedit to make a .got file, and a .trged file. I changed the .trged to .trg, put them into an mpq, using their original names, I fired up the mod, and none of the triggers fired. I know, though, that it wasn't using the regular triggers, since I have no default melee triggers in it, and I didn't get 50 mins.

What's going on, I followed the tutorial to the letter.

1) Did you put the .trg file in the right path (triggers\melee.got)?

2) Did you have locations? It wouldn't work if you had locations.

3) Were you playing on the melee gametype?

4) What were the triggers? Post them up here and I could give you more help.

1. Is it triggers\melee(1).got and templates\melee.trg? I had it the other way around.

2. Nope, just a heck of a lot of deathcounters.

3. Yeah, I knew that it had changed because I didn't put normal melee triggers in the .trg, and I didn't start with 50 mins

4. They're really, really long, about 100-150, since DCs take a lot of triggers. However, I can give you a copy of the experimental map in which I brought them from. One sec, while I figure out the Attachment ID.

1. You have it the right way.
2. Deathcounters are fine.

Then what's up? If you play the experimental map, it works, but the mod obviously doesn't.

I will assume they're the trgs from the experimental map made some time ago. The triggers don't work if you train a unit then cancel it one sec later since they add more minerals.

I made the map, and I figured out a way around that building glitch problem.
