Well since Mike doesn't want it publicly known there, maybe I should just let you guys know:
Besides the obvious (that Mike = Tau), after reading his PM it becomes apparent he does consider SEN in a competitive manner. I'm not saying SEN should start competing, I just want everyone here to know how much of a complete secretive asshole Mike is to continue lying to people about his true opinions and motives.

If he's serious about competing, I think maplantis has a big disadvantage that they may not be able to recover from: The freaking domain name! We've got the best damn domain there is for a starcraft mapping site.
Plus, nearly all of maplantis's memberbase is from disgruntled or curious SEN members.

SEN's best weapon is ignoring maplantis. The more we spam links to their site, the more they benefit.

Yeah... right... tau assumes my recent work on v4/v5 is all because of maplantis as well. I just code when I have the time and will to.

How about we cooperate with Maplantis, share concepts and information and help the SC community grow?
Besides, there's nothing wrong with a little competition... we compete with SC.org in a sense, and both our sites have turned out fine.

I think Maplantis' leadership already shot down that idea. I seem to remember them refusing to become affiliated with us.
I can't the read the news post because the site appears to be down.

I am perfectly fine with Maplantis. It endorses a philosophy that I agree with. Since quite a few of our own members do not agree with it, it's understandable that we try to protect their beliefs by suppressing OS mapping as much as possible. As long as both sites coexist peacefully, there is plenty of opportunities present for every mapper out there.

It's funny, because Maplantis says similar things about SEN. Maybe it was a bit on both sides? I think it merits another try, anyway.

Me and mike still share information from time to time. If I wanted to, I could leave SEN and code for them. At least, that's what mike says

No, maplantis had a news post about the whole tau = mike pm. It also had a lot of other interesting garbage, like how crapty sen is.
I'm sure there's better ways mike would like more. So I object to this statement ;o.
