I agree with the pope in this, it seems that violent and sexually explicit things are effecting the youth in bad ways. Just look around it seems every year kids get ruder and care less about others, and i think this is part of the problem, but definatly not all of it!!

Anybody that takes violent video games and reflects it into their own life is mentally challenged and should be put in an institution, it's a video game not a brainwashing zombie creating machine.
I understand the popes points and most catholic children will probably get forced to stop playing video games.

It's explicitly said violent and sexual video games, not video games as a a whole, and then people start denouncing his popeliness. In fact, the title in big letter on the quote is "Pope Denounces Violent Video Games"

Err.. Starcraft is a killing game, hence it's violent. Or are you against starcraft?
How I understood it, the pope is against any game that does not feature barney or some other similar character. Or tetris. Though I heard that those twisting squares can be quite violent.

this reminded me of one incident. i forget the person's name, but he also hated video games. he started a rebellion or something like that on banning video games and took it up to court, but that case got rejected. anyway, they're just making themselves look stupid imo...

Where is violent and not violent drawn though? To an extent mario is violent for crushing enemies' skulls by jumping on them. All these other games probably have something wrong with them too. Mario Party is gambling, Need for Speed is resisting authority, katamari damcy is greed to an extent. He says violent, but I doubt there's any video game that the pope finds pleasing.
