\/Descripiton\/
In this game, you must defend an underground Energy Silo from aliens. This Energy Silo is the only thing keeping the humans alive on a lone terraforming planet out in the middle of the some outskirt galaxy. Most of the soldiers are currently battling above the surface, but some of the aliens are breaking inside.
The only assistance you have are from fifteen Turrets that are currently unpowered. Some brilliant guy didn't bring the cables. The only thing you can do is take batteries to these turrets to activate them. Of course, these batteries must all be re-charged before use. There are however, only a few batteries currently operational. But these batteries cannot support the turret's vast energy needs, so they will not last forever. They will stop after a set ammount of time and the depleted batteries must be re-attained then taken to the Battery Recharge Station and charged. The station can only charge two batteries at a time and will also take the time out of charging the reserve batteries still charging from before the game started.
The turrets of course, have a limited range of fire. They cannot see very far and also have a sight angle of 150 degrees left to right. In other words, they cannot shoot behind them. There is also a Healing Device, but it is not instant. It will take some time for the device to heal you, but you are free to leave before you are fully healed.
As for your unit, you are able to choose from three suits in the beginning. They include: The Battle Suit, the Lug Suit, and the Combat Suit. The difference in these being there fighting abilities and the ammount of batteries they can carry. The Battle Suit can only carry one battery, depleted or charged, but can hold his own in small fire-fights. The Lug Suit on the other hand can carry up to two batteries at a time, but has no room for weapons. To make up for his combat in-ability, the suit has reinforced armor. The Combat Suit is strictly made for fighting. It can take damage and dish it back out, but it cannot carry any batteries.

I have the entire map planned out. There are no flaws in the design and I know the triggers/ideas will work.

It is a little ugly and flawed, but it cant be helped. It's all about performance.

...Maybe later.Batteries would be a pain but atleast it is unique
. It would keep people from just over mazing. I love defense maps so I hope this map is fun and gets done soon. Good luck!
This sounds like a good def map so good luck!
I have made alot of progress and screenies should be coming soon. All that I need to do now is complete the batteries, the recharge station, and the enemies.
mmm this sounds like a very innovative defense
I am going to use Data Discs as my batteries.
I have made some more progress on my map, this map may get done before the end of Febuary. The release date is entirely dependant on how balanced the units will be.
What about gas tanks or that spinning small thing. Ugh I forgot name of that powerup
Psi Emitter? Is that the spinning thing you are talking about?
Yes, it is the one he is talking about. The reason I am going to use Data Discs is just because its just alot simpler, besides. All of the battery triggers are done and it would be a pain to go back to fix them all to a different type of unit.
Sounds great, good luck with the rest of the process. I'm working on a more complex defense map too.

You
could just use find-and-replace.
Or he could just finish his map without everyone telling him what units to use
the idea and concept are completely original, the maps progressing, why should he have to go back and change a bunch of triggers just b/c u guys don't want him to use the Data Disc
the Data Disc is fine
dude when are u gonna start testing???

I agree, it doesn't matter.

Your right, I
could, but I don't think I am going to.

Lol, thanks.

I will most likely start testing as soon as I get the basic triggers done with. I already have a small cast of experienced testers at my school, but some recognition for this map on SEN would be a good thing.
well i'm down for testing
just pm me the date and time
=]
I'm down for testing too babe ;o
Allright, I'll send a random message telling a time and date probrably within the next week.
I have finished the batteries and suits, now all that is left is the enemy units.
ADDITION:
I was thinking about adding some tanks as a sort of Super Turret that would assist the old turrets, but at the cost of two batteries a pop.
Also, what would you think of items you use somewhat like spells. Such as Buoys, I dont know how to spell it, that would attract units for a short ammount of time. Your own personal, short lasting (weak) turrets. And also a sort of emergency make-shift battery that would allow you to get away real quick with the dead battery.
Seems good. Keep up the good work!
