You know, you spawn units, you mass attack your enemies, your units get better after so-many kills... My question is:
Do you guys think we could somehow incorporate a madness into an RPG? There's numerous games where you have a hero and they fight against masses of enemies that get harder as you go, but do you think it'd be a fun game where you continuously spawn units like a madness, gotta defend ur base liek a madness, but have special uniuts//characters that can do other things to benefit your team//hurt the enemy? I mean, I don't want it to be just a boring madness game, but I don't want it to be as boring as most RPGs either.
Any ideas?
actually there is a game that you could send from warcraft 3 to starcraft.. like where you have 6 town halls and you gotta defend them and you pick a hero and you defend you t.h. from demons and you can upgrade and buy revive potions and such.
wouldent b that horrible but an rpg is supposed to b where they kill sumthing or rescue sumthin not killing and killing and killing
I think golems is something like that. Or am I wrong..?
Maybe a big battle takes place in the RPG like LOTR with Gondor and you keep getting dudes.
make sure you incorporate lots of strategy and terrain(Like trees, high, low) so it won't be boring.
isn't that like the Aeon of Strife maps
Theres never been much improvement for madness maps. Map makers find it hard to try to add new concepts to madness without utterly rigging the map. I would love to see a new type of "madness" map, but I haven't seen a map maker that pulled it off seccessfully.
hm i think a pretty fair way to do a madness would be to have all levels and units the same for all players but have like kills for cash and diff abilities, spells or things you can buy
flaming X made Warlords which is a maddness where you get one hero with spells and stuff. Is that what you're talking about?
yea thats what im talking about and i think like corsair madness or sumtin too
i dun really like corsair madness but iono.. thats just me...
and it seems to me that a lot of hte madnesses are always rigged
How about a RPG where you play the monsters, and you have lots of units and your trying to kill the heroes, wich are computer controled.
in an rpg i would rather have only 1 unit, not many, but if you oculd incorporate this then gj to you
heres a madness map i made:
Or what about a map where you and the computers roles are switched. The computer has heroes that try to do the mission while you have hundreds of units trying to stop them throughout the map. Dunno, an interesting new idea? Or remake an RPG where you are the computer and the computer is the Player.
To me madness maps aren't good. It's just kill kill kill then you either win or lose.
Although having units all invisible like someone posted somewhere can make them more interesting.
There's Pikmin. It's a map where 1 player is the leader and 3 other players controls armies of pikmin. They need to collect reavers and fight bosses etc. Of course the map is old...
I didn't read over all of them, but that is a good idea for a game. I think it would be a little hard to control everything at the same time. but I think once you got use to it, it would be ok
