Hey, well i'm starting a new map me and my friend( Hick ) cooked up its a defense map but with a twist that will make it very different? At least from what i've seen
What twist you ask?
Well its a normal defense map but in one part of the map there will be a bound. You have to build defense but the bound is there so incase you need some minerals or are in a tight spot you can go through the bound to get a civ. A civ can be used to purchase a hero a detector or a special ability like kill all spawns or give you some extra cash. What you think about this idea? Id like your though and maybe some ideas on what to use in the map, I'll give full credit for ideas used.

You can make the player choose from diff difficulties for the bound. The harder it is, the better the reward.
How bout, the map is separated into 2 parts... One part is the bound, and the other is the defense setting. In order to receive more minerals to upgrade or get more defense units, you need to complete the various bound obstacles.
Example: Lets say I start out with 12 marines... If I complete the first obstacle itll give me like a hero marine and like 10 minerals or something to buy more men or upgrade...
killer's idea is a good one, i think that you could do something with a bound d like build a supply, create a dark archon that explodes at intervals destroying nearby units... or maybe have a unit that spawns larva, they die at a certain distance from the spawner but they kill units within their range. just take every bound obs that you know and change it to yourt willing.
