This is an all guy forum (bar myself), and I rarely hear a guy's opinion on abortion, so I was wondering what you guys thought about it. Is it right or wrong?

In most cases I feel it is right. For instance, when a women is raped or has an un-expected pregnancy. They should have the right to abort the baby if they do not wish to keep it. Some may view killing an unborn fetus wrong, but what if that child is born into an unwanted world because the mother was not allowed to abort.

It dont think its right nor wrong,

It is up to the women herself, What she wants to do.

I agree with Tazzy, its the women's choice.

Am i the only one who thinks that the rupublicans supporting war but being agenst abortion is just alittle screwed up?

There isnt really a right or wrong answer, but you have to consider the circumstances surrounding why there would be the need for an abortion in the first place, such as "when a women is raped or has an un-expected pregnancy". I suppose Im leaning a bit towards it being wrong, but I wouldnt want to be hypocritical since there are instances where an abortion is needed.

It depends on what the woman wants. It should be her choice to keep it or abort.

I don't favor abortion, but I believe the woman has a right to choose. It's her unborn child, so she should be able to do what she wants with it. If someone's willing to adopt, then that's great for them, they can go right ahead. For someone to force another person to have a child that they may not even be able to support and take care of it just isn't right.

Well, I've heard your guys' opinions, and I thought I should write a bit about what I think about abortion:

Women will have an abortion anyways, whether or not it is illegal. If you do not know how they do this, its called a coat hanger abortion...I don't think I need to explain more on how they do it. Also, some woman OD on "next day pills," and kill themselves that way.

That's what i know. One of my friend's aunts killed herself by getting an infection because of preforming a coat hanger abortion.

I don't think it is wrong, before or after all we will die, and looking it from the science point, there is not "life" or "death", we are just atoms and molecules and chemical reactions, alive or died.

I don't place much value on the life of a single human who has had no experiences. Even if you disregard what Clokr_ said, which I coincidentally also believe, a human with no mind to speak of is just a lump of flesh. Whether or not it could develop into a sentient mind is irrelevant - if it's not yet a person with experiences and a personality then it shouldn't be treated as one.

I don't know what people thinks.
However - people say you are killing god's children.

Well Nozumu thats truly the first time ive seen someone take that look at it.

I say it is the womans and only the womans right to choose whether or not to have the child. After all until the baby is born it is still technically her body and she can do whatever she pleases to do with it.

You pregant or something FK? tongue.gif

I eblive its the womans choice, but personally, i wouldnt do it, it seems wrong to rob someone of having a life...

i doubt it High, if you were a female and a underage boy had intercourse with you and you became pregnant and it is not until 4 months that u noticed you are. Your age is only 15, your family would be ferocious if they knew. That boy pushed aside all his responsibility. You have no idea how to treat a baby, and this baby is about to come out of your womb and will grow up to call u mommy. Are you sure you still don't want to abort this baby?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-08-20 at 09:24:39
that is the other side of abortion. Some woman are only teen agers and don't want their parents to know. I know that if I wer to become pregnant I'd probably be thrown out on the streets. Caring, isn't it? Also, the father might not stick around after you have the baby.

However, with abortion is going to those planned parenthood places. I have nothing against those places, they actually help mothers in a lot of way, but those damn activists out in front make me want to go postal. How do you know the cars driving up have women who are going to have an abortion>>

Killing an unborn baby. It's horrible and should be illigal. Thats how many people look at it no matter what you tell them.

There are many reasons for someone to want an abortion. Like not wanting someone to find out, or not being able to care for a baby, or just not wanting the baby. Any sort of unwanted pregnatcy like that.
Would you rather have the baby killed by abortion and the problem ending there, Or would it be better to ruin 2 people's lives, the mother and the child?
Also there are medical conditions that might cause the mother to die when giving birth, and an abortion is required.

I dont think there is anyhting wrong with abortion. Alot of people dont support it because they dont think its 'right'

A lot of people don't even take the time to decide for themselves whether or not life begins at conception - they just accept the view taken by their religion, whether or not it makes sense. These religious extremists are the people at the demonstrations, FireKame. Apparently the kind of blind faith promoted by most religions does have a downside.

If people want to take the "when is it alive" thing, technically a sperm and the egg are both alive. So when the sperm fertalizes the egg its just combining to make one alive thing.

Though personally it really matters not if its "alive" or not. The cells in your arm are individually alive, so say letting the woman cut her own arm would be no different.

This is a big issue itself, some pople have sued murders for 2counts beacuse the woman was pregant, When is a fetus legally "alive"?

I think the baby has to be born alive and be issued a birth certificate for it to count as a person, legally. Before its born its just a nothing

So your saying a peice of paper makes someone alive?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cokymonster on 2004-08-20 at 19:56:03
Well this is such a broad question that answering in either direction would not be wrong nor right.

I agree that the female has the choice of whether to bear the child or not. The circumstances can outway any answer.
The example of being raped and then finding out your are pregnant, im not certain but i am quite sure that the person who was raped, would not want the child to be born (whether it be male or female that was raped).
You can do an ultrasound to see if the child has any problems. Though this is another controversy holding that the child is now almost matured into a baby and taking it's life would be murdered. A mother who is unwilling to devote their lives to raising their child should not have a child in the first place.
People may argue that the child who is not born yet, has the potential to make miracles and what not, but who is certain? The child that could be borned could be the next charles manson!

I also disagree about this broad broad BROAD question. Take a person who is in a coma. Though they cannot speak nor hear( im not sure about hearing though), is it justified to give a person Full control of where the person should live or not? You cannot take ones life without justifying the consequences. The mother may not want the child, but what if the father does? Does her need outway his? Where are the equal rights (mind you i am from canada) where the need of the mother justifies the death of a child not born into the world.

The question asked is too hypothetical. No wrong nor right answer may be given, but only an opinion.

My 2 cents. I dont want change, but can you spare me a quater?
