Unemployment is growing, with machines and computers replacing some jobs, internet and home working cuts down the multiple workers needed to perhaps do one job, low salaries paid to some workers (e.g. Mexican - I'm not being racist, just a fact, a European Computer technology programmer got fired and had to work at Mc Donalds which he was replaced by a Mexican which is willing to be paid at a salary not a few dollars more than the current European worker's hourly wage working at Mc Donalds), jobs going overseas, plus the increasing amount of women working in the society competing with men for jobs.
What will be left for the next generation - and the next generation after?
Will unemployment be something common and usual one day just like people wearing glasses?
In the next 20 years there will be a shift, wait scratch that the next 50 years. In the next 20 years yes there will be a huge number of people unemployed, but like with a lot of things that shall worsen in the next 20 yars there will be a shift. In the next 50 years there will be more jobs simply because there will be more types of professions.
We are not quite at the state where machines will be "taking over" any large amounts of workforce.
My prediction is that in the next 50-75 years something big will happen. Something that shall employ a large workforce. I think that we will discover how to make cold fusion work. Seeing as how most of the problems in the world are energy related cold fusion will provide a surplus of energy. The world can then move on the focus on more important things. Things such as more prolific space travel, increased life span, fixing the planet back to its excellent form before heavy pollutants. Those are just some. To do all this though will require a lot of people(plenty of availible jobs).
My mom's unemployed, and my brother just got employed halfway through this summer
Im unemployed, but i dont work yet
Employment is hard to get if your over 40, my mum looked for liek a year ebfore she found a good job
I think itll just lead up into another war; one way or another, theres going to be another war; its pretty much inevitable. There are some studies that describe how much higher the world population will be by 2050, and with rapidly decreasing amount of inhabitable land, living conditions will slowly decline (not taking into consideration the wealthy and celebs, but thats another issue altogether).
Higher pop. means more competition for work, and unless theres new technology with a high demand for workers, population will rise while employment rates stay relatively the same. Crime could increase, and society will begin to crumble at the edges.
Or im just being crazy... for now.
There is not a declining amount of hospitable land. The only land on thtis planet that is unhospitable is down in antartica. Every other piece of land can be made liveable even deserts with the right water irrigation/plumbing equitment.

I said something about this in my other post.
At the moment i'm unemployed (because I choose to be), I stopped at my lifeguard job which I had for some 4 years in july and I wont have another job till next year in college.
Im not really a Victim im 50/50 as im joining the amry real soon, Hopefully if i get an interveiw and crap.
But we cant say it will or wont be in the next 20 years. It depends on hows things change and what not.
Interview , what do you mean interview ? Once you go to the recruiting center all you need to do is pass the health and mental test and you're in.
I've thought about unemployement and the population problem a lot recently, and I've developed a few ideas. First, I think that somehow in the next century there will be a major redistribution of wealth. Think about how fast the gap between the rich and the poor has widened in the last 10 years. Now imagine that happening over the next 100 years. Scary stuff. I also think that no matter how good the employment situation is, in 50 or so years there just won't be enough food production to feed everyone, and hundreds of millions will die from starvation.
I looked all over for a minimum-wage job at the beginning of the summer, so I could make some dough for college. It too me a month and some good connections (I was friends with the managers) to get a job at a grocery store. From looking at newspapers and news reports it seems like the situation is the same all over America. Unless the world economy picks up and speeds progress at an incredible rate, or there is some huge advance in technology like Helios said, society and civilization are in trouble.
If I ran for President, the two main things on my agenda would be finding an alternate energy source and some huge agricultural advances for increased food productivity.
my dad owns a business, so he is employed until it goes bankrupt. That has almost happened a few times, because we did not get paid on time.
I voted no, atleast for ppl like me cuz I'm gonna be a vet and there ain't many of those out there

.
Ive been unemployed for the last 16 years! lol

nah ppl will get work or no money..
Could put some people out of their jobs. Then we'd all become farmers and military workers for the rest of our lives.
nah farming and military is suckage
Im very lucky, my mom has a store that she owns, I work there and i get 350 a week. Im 16 and thats good enough for me. I live at my moms house. I have friends that can't find jobs, or they don't want to and get money from their hard-working parents, which I think is rude. They hang-out too much and get in trouble.

My parents are janitors. They work hard and get a low salary.Me i dont want to work hard i got my dreams set on a life of luxury. How i will achieve that? Its simple quiete simple lol.
I am 14 and unemployed. I have been unemployed for 14 years. Unemployment is a huge problem. Life will eventually be like Futurama. Meaning that robots will do many jobs.
