athiest and proud. see, being athiest rocks, you don't have to hate other people because of their religion. you don't have to do anything you don't want to. you don't have to listen to silly books. you don't have to do what people tell you. it's something people always want but never get because of religion: freedom :ph34r: (<-- i love this smiley)

Hehe, its funny, even though I'm supposed to, I don't go to church, nor do I read the bible, or really anything I'm supposed to except prey sometimes, and respect others religions.

No, I've been atheist as long as I can remember (~20 years). No religious arguments ever held water for me.

Hmm how might I say this in a quick sentence. I'm not atheist, but yet I dont follow one religon nor am I really Agnostic.
The way I see it there could be something and there could not be anything. I just have a nasty habit of wanting proof for things, Gos just happens to be opnipotent and all so cant really prove or disprove. ahh whatever..

I'm not talking about a god in the conventional form (supernatural man with beard), I am talking about a concept that we are incapable of understanding. So there's no need for the bitingly sarcastic animation.
It's hard for me to explain, but I'll give it a go:

The idea of something just existing is a nonsense to me.
Now, if this concept of just existing is incomprehensible to us, then we create something to revert the state of things back to the 'safe' ground of cause and effect. The thing we create is the concept of god. This (in my terms) is not some 'Divine Being,' but just something beyond our understanding that caused the Universe to appear.
Kind of confusing and I didn't explain it too well...but what can you do in this sort of situation?

I dont think most people consider God something that we can fully understand.
By saying "something" just caused the universe to appear you're in a way saying that no 'thing' such as a God created it but just an event like say the Big Bang. We get the general idea of the big bang just like we get the general idea of God, but no one can fully understand everything behind it.
