Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> Madness In The Marathon

I was watching the Olympic Marathon and with 4 miles to go, An Irish ex-priest came out running out of the crowd and pushed the brazilian Lima, who was in first place causing him to lose 10 seconds of running time.

What do you think...?

Didn't hear of it...

Either ways, it's okay... As long as the priest didn't have a gun.

What the ex-priest dude thing is kinda-ok he did nothing illegal.
The thing is that he made the brazilian lose 10 seconds running time because the preist deliberatly pushed the brazilian runner and almost tackled him.

It's like when you're playing an important Sc tournament and your sister comes and messes with the mouse and turns of the screen. Only the marathon is more important and medals were at stake, the runner could've been injured.

Meh, yea, it's bad. But I tend to see the good side of things when such important events comes in. You might think there could have been terrorist attacks, bombs, etc...

I'm just glad only a couple of censored.gif s screwed minor things up with "passive" manifestations...

Why was it a priest anyway? He couldn't stand seeing some girl run or something (religious beliefs??)

It was a man he pushed.

He had somekind of sing on his back saying something about an israelite prophecy or something...

I would be pissed off ass hell if someone cost me first place. Not only that, this isn't just any competition - it's the Olympics! I'd kick his ass and demand a re-race, but only the first one would be satisifed.

I bet the guy who was about to get second and took first is quite happy. Hey, this reminds me of that one baseball game where that little 12 year old Cubs fan cost the Cubs the game by catching the ball.

Oh well, I guess you can't really blame him if he's mentally ill tongue.gif

The games in general went pretty well though.

The IOC wanted to give him a special sportsmanship award, but he said nah he wanted to stick with the bronze, thats what i heard by Jim Lantley, the anchor. The ex-priest did the same thing in Sydney. The priest wanted to tactle him so the Italian runner can get gold.

I saw that clip, the irish guy(Or he was just dressed like one) pushed him in the crowd when he was in first place. He ended up in 3rd, I would have gone and kicked his ass after the race ended, that is if I could find him.

Yeah, I heard this, in fact before it came on in America. Cause my bro plays a game with Lithoania people, and they said something about it because they see it before us. But yeah, I really feel sorry for the guy who got tackled, I think they should've re-raced.

Are you crazy shmeeps?
Who would actually dare to re-run a Marathon it's 26.2 miles.
A 400 meter or shorter race I might re-race but anything longer than that I won't.

Imagine you have been running, working out, eating crappy food to be healthy, and waking up early to go pratice more and more. One day after you found yourself in the olipics becasue you are the best in your country. In the race, you are first when a f*cking priest get you to the side of the road! You lose secods, and the speed you had. You get third place.

THAT WOULD SUCK A LOT!!!
