Ok it’s been along time since IV worked on sc maps because IV been working on my own game =_= But with all my friends going back to sc I will start back on some unfinished maps. The one I want to do the most its Starcraft: Tactics. This is kind of like FF tactics. Each player will have unites. You can only move one guy a turn, and every guy has there own delay time, so you can’t just use the same one over and over. The point of the game is the same as FF tactics, Kill everyone, OR you can be the first one to get all the bases, when you get a base [a pylon] you get another guy =_=. I still don’t know what im going to do for spells. The terrain is kind of cool looking. Its instillation, with like green 1x1 blocks, it looks all digital I guess. If you got any ideas of what I can do to make this game a big hit plz let me know.

Release date: 12/01/04 [most likely earlier. Its just I got my other game to work on]

Hmm........ This sounds incredible! I have a question for you, do any squares have trees? I think That would be a good idea to make it more tactical.
Maybe you could have minigames also, now that would be an awsome map.

Add an inventory where you can use items for a cost of some time in your turn, like in Fallout Tactics. In addition, make traps in the map that can harm any player like wall sperathrowers. Also add secrets.

Maybe there could be a shop place. You could get $$$ from kills and go to the shop to buy special heros and items for inventory. Also for spells you could have a spell that causes explosions in 2 squares from all directions, wich causes all units in 2 squares from any direction has health lowered to 50%. Also, another spell could heal all your units fully. And yet another one could be mini bomb. You get a dropship loaded with an scv (any unit will do) called mini bomb. Unload that unit in any square killing all units in that square (including your own). Now that would be da bomb

the trees sound like a good idea, but might look a lil funky with the terrain, i should take a SS of the map... Now traps sound like a good idea 2. Ill have to think about how i can add that. The turns are a lil funky, beacuse if youv played tactics you know you move square wise, in this case you move where ever you can within 10 secs [thats moving and attacking] i was gana make it by squares, but i hate to use so many locations, and its a big map, its made for 5 players. The "attack 2 square" spell sounds good but once again so many locations. maby i should make map smaller.

Yea i know what you mean. if i wasn't so lazy i would help you. You should make it smaller. Still it sounds awsome!

ya thats the main reason i stoped makeing sc maps, its ezy, just so tedius. Making my own game is ezyer lol... anyway iv worked on it some more, i need to add the shop/main working area. im not sure if i should keep it 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 or just 1 vs 1, that would be kinda slow on a lil boring maby..

Don't ever add secrets to a map. They are pointless and only serve as a way to rig the map against people that are playing for the first time, and for newbs that suck too much to play the game fairly. Secrets are never good, even in games like sunken D.

I though of a way to do the mini bomb thing.

Players: Whatever

Conditions: Always

Actions: Center Location Named Whatever On 1 Mini Bomb Owned By Whatever player
Preserve Trigger
---------------------------------------------------------------
Players: Same As Above

Conditions: Whatever Brings Exactly 1 Mini Bomb To Location Whatever (same one thats being centered)

Actions: Kill 1 Mini Bomb Owned By Player Whatever, Create 1 Terran Battle Cruiser At Location Whatever For Any Player, Kill All Any Unit Owned By Any Player At Location: Whatever, Preserve Trigger
----------------------------------------------------------------
Make The Location Bigger Then A Battle Cruiser.
This Should Be Done With Hyper Triggers.
Make The Location Only Activate For Ground Units (uncheck low air - high air).

Whatever you do, don't make it like all those FF Tactics with countless amount of bugs and unbalanced forces.

Heres the old VERY VERY bad terrain, i made this terrain beacuse i didnt know what to make so i just started adding stuff adding some triggers then i thought... this be a cool tactics game =_= [new terrain much better]

Thnx, I have run into a prob, ezy to fix just wish i didnt have to, ok when your time runs up your dude goes to another team so you cant move him when its not your turn =_= but the thing is if you click real far away when the time is low and your guy swiches team, he still walks to the place you told him to go to, so he can walk all the way across the map in 1 turn, i know how to fix this but just more work lol
