The coming map night is ironicly, on September 11th. The same day the world trade centers were hit.

So, we're going to give the UMS mapping style of a memory to this event: We're going to play World Trade Center themed games (such as Defend the world trade centers, and whatever anyone else brings).

Don't be offended into thinking this is the ONLY thing we're doing for september 11th. More will be coming as the date arrives.

By the way, I will be there.

Sounds like a good idea.

I might come, not sure presently, however can we make other games are played, although i'm sure you guys see this as an important date, i find it irony that so much is stated on this attack, yet the thousands of other similar attacks worldwide do not get such things.

Mainly becuase there are very few attacks similar worldwide. When you live 40 minutes from NYC you kinda know how bad the attack was (I live just north of the city). I'll be celebrating on September 11th so I may not be there.

It's my birthday you see, which is also ironic, as now nobody forgets my birthday, but for the wrong reasons.

Defend the WTC sounds a little tasteless to me. Oh well, it would have been tasteless 2 years ago, but not anymore!

Few attacks that big ... I wonder how come there isn't a game called Defend the Students in Tiananmen Square? Man, that was a massacre! Hundreds of people died from that...

The "Defend the World Trade Center" needs work, like extended terrain, better names, etc.

BTW how is that bad luck? It's just "September 11th". Nothing too bad happened that day, the World Trade Center was bombed(Note: It wasn't bombed in 2002, 2003, or 2004, it was in 2001), woopdidoo, you don't see me celebrating "The sinking of the Titanic" or "Attack on Pearl Harbour", if it went like that, people would be giving tributes every day. Why try to remember it if it's so tragic? Why can't we just forget and move on in life?

Make a better version by the 11th then

. We're playing it as a tribute, not necessarly because its a well made map. It could use a fixup or two, but its worth a bit of fun.

I partly agree. Its why I'm making map night WTC based instead of calling it off for mourning.

It wouldent have gotten hit if Bush had read the secruity papers that said they would be attacks and done something about.but he was busy taking the most vacations any president has ever had in there first year in office.....

i kinda like wtc defense and im actually kinda good at it, just have each person take one of the directions the air units come from and build like a massive straight line goin away from the buildings and just keep building

Hmm... reading this topic gave me an idea.
Escape from the WTC

Good map idea for an time-based RPG
Don't make the mpa like those stupid OMFG ESCAPE FROM LAVA RUN 9.9999 Platinum edition. Those maps are stupid.

Escape from WTC could be like your on one of the top floors and you have to escape. During your escape you realize that the elevators don't work. You'll have to head for the stairs and you notice that you don't know where the stairs are because it was your first day on the job. You will have to help people get thier personal stuff and help people get to certain places so they can help you to get down.

COuld be a fun RPG if someone knows how to integrate a good story line.
