After hours of picking at the coding and annoying my host, the Downloads database is now working better than it was before.

There may be some edit file problems, but im still doing that.

Lesson to be learned: Don't take the downloads database for granted anymore wink.gif

UPDATE: Editing files now works! Downloads database is now returned to 100% normal operation.

I've also updated Starforge to 2.1. Its a version that was never offically released, but Heimdal gave me the link to it. Very little people are aware of its existance because it fixes very little. Click here to get it.

Also, your files may take a while to accept/deny. No doubt with the downtime, people are now going to upload files like no tommorow. Thats not a problem, but it will take me longer to go through them all.

Ummm, where is the "Add File" button? It's not there! I was going to get around to re-adding my files!

I'm going to put that in later. Since I can't even edit your files, theres no point in you submitting anything.

Apparently, this is most likely a script problem. We'll have it repaired soon.

Oh yes, stay tuned for the tutorials database submittions. Its going good so far.

I've always wondered how you keep your ability to place maps onto the ftp from normal users safe from hackers? Couldn't they use it to gain access to other areas, or cause viruses or backdoors to be made for future use?

You mean the downloads script? Nooo. Its very safe.

It renames invalid files with invalid characters to "_" (but the map doesn't need redownloading if you play on battle.net).

Also, it renames files with their IDs as a preset, so its easier for me to find them, and impossible for someone else to submit the same file and "overwrite" my previous one. It renames dynamicly when you download from here (which was the problem before, it wasn't renaming thus you got files with the preset i.e.: [###]My File.scx).

People can only upload those extentions. If they upload anything else, rename files, submit fake files etc, then I'm the one who checks it and deletes no-nos.
