Map Idea: Get killed DEF

Idea Info: Instend of killing the enemies every level how about gettting killed instend like build stuff and see if the enemies can kill it under a timer and units will try to heal the building and you must kill the healers!

Wat do you think of this?

Sounds too odd. Might work however, but you didnt explain it clearly. Or maybe you did, but its 1 AM atm.

I can't understand this correctly. So they are trying to kill YOU while you are trying to kill THEM? All this with a timer? Huh, wuh, yuh?

Let me tell you clearly

A spawn of enemies come and you must build stuff. Then wait if the enemies cankill your stuff under a timer and there are healers that repair your building and you must kill them with heros so that enemies can kill your base!

If the enemies don't kill your base under a timer you lose!

It's an interesting idea certainly.

It would be cool to have a defense where the comp was defending and you had to run through strategically and not die with a lot of units. That would be cool if it worked and people like it.

Wolfmasterkouga, That's an AWESOME Idea!
To be honest I won't do it myself, but here's how you'd MAKE people play.

Best way I can think is 4player map, 4 comps, each player has a designated area of their own.

Comps invade after 5min.

Whoever can BUILD the most, in that 5 min wins that round.
Comps will come kill you, as they kill you, their score goes up.
When their score goes up, that player's score will too!

Now you can add more challenging things like.... zombie units getting in the way or critters getting in the way of your building, or create men for the player (That will kill the comp without your permission) and have them go junkyard dog (force to patrol to random areas, so they don't just run in a cornder).

TRY IT OUT!!!
This could be worth the play/make.

about that def thingy....

Why not do like, you must have 0 minerals before the enemies attack or you'll lose, then u must build buildings.... closedeyes.gif

I think this idea is quite bad.

I would just buy a lot of the worst building and place them very far appart.
It's quite simple to abuse it.

Well you can ALWAYS make nearly ANY game good... nearly.
In this case, the buildings worth the "least" points, will have more HP or something.
Also, spreading them far apart is... well.. it takes the SCV (if scv used) - time to build, so travel + build = waste time, enemy will invade you soon enough.
Or if probe, then no probe, spread 'em all over... zerg drone... umm.. don't even think about it.
Also - you can learn strategies - like maybe surround a building worth more points with buildings worth less points (that have more HP) - the list goes on...

Werll, the solution to just making 1 building to win or just placing really weak ones far apart is...

MAKE THE BUILDINGS BE THE ATTACKERS.
That way, they can't kill the healers fast enough if you only have 1 or they spread out.
If they can't kill the healers fast enough, they can't die.
If they can't die fast enough, you lose.

Another thing you could do, is to have the objective be to kill the enemy team's Base, and to get minerals to buy units to destroy their base, you need to have your units die.

Seriously people, someone comes up with an idea, and you say
'Well, even though 1 second of thought could come up with a few dozen solutions to the problem, this idea is horrible and not good for a map, what would happen if I just did this thing that those few dozen ideas would solve?'

You repeated yourself a lot there.

My idea, is use a trigger like this


Bring
Current Player Brings 5 Buildings to Red

Move all SCV for Current Player to SCV Steal
Create 10 Level 1 at Red Attackers







That way it wont start unless you have the right amount of buildings
also dont put a preserve trigger on it ( it would just make it mess up)

You move the scv so it cant kill the buildings. happy.gif

(I may just make this map, dont know if it would be popular or not but what the hell)
