Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-09-16 at 23:56:40
I think bush reenstating the draft is riculious, because it can tear a family apart. im afriad of the draft becaus of my brother and sister, and we have the most powerful army in the world, we dont need 2 make it stronger
Report, edit, etc...Posted by bengals2k4 on 2004-09-17 at 15:24:29
why is he reinstating it? Don't we already have enough ppl in the army already, this is pretty stupid...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-09-17 at 16:58:36
do you have a manuscript of what, where, and when he said that? Please, it would be most helpful
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-09-18 at 15:14:55
Since you have failed to tell me where this was found, and since I've done some research on my own, Bush has not reenstated the draft, and will not until at least the end of elections. No one is that stupid.

If Bush reINstated the draft, then he would lose the election. Good point.

we dont need a draft, we have plenty of soldiers and its all volunteer, no forcings, other than maybe inside the family. Were not losing but 1-2 soldiers average a day, thats notihng compared to vietnam and such. only about 1k soldiers have died since we went to iraq

only 1000? and what about iraqs CIVILIAN casulties? i'm sure it's ONLY 10's of thousands[random number I thought of, if you want the real number, I'll find it later]..why should we care right?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2004-09-18 at 16:16:13
1000 soldiers isn't that much, just a small fraction of what they lost
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CheeZe on 2004-09-18 at 18:37:45
1000 is A LOT. imagine 1000 families. lets say each family had 4 people. now each of them are down to 3. lets say you were in one of those families. would you still say it was not a lot?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .matrix//Merovingian on 2004-09-18 at 18:47:20
In the first Gulf War, the U.S. only lost like, what, 200 soldiers? The American military death toll now is 5 times that figure! That's too much.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-09-18 at 19:41:53
a lot? heh. Our reserve is being sent OVER SEAS. Do you know what the word reserve means? I was looking at a statistic, and there are roughly 10,000 troups in America right now. That's it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2004-09-18 at 20:02:10
And 150,000+ soldiers in Iraq. To answer the topic, lol I wish Bush would reinstate the draft right now. THen he would lose elction and Kerry would get rid of it. Pity he won't tongue.gif closedeyes.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-09-18 at 20:11:30
in that perspective, yes, the draft would be a good thing, to better define where who lies.

I wonder...what if America spreads it's soldiers so thinly over so much...with so little soldiers at home...would it be possible to overthrow the government as we know it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2004-09-18 at 21:00:39
Yes, but who would dare... WHo hates the government? It wouldn't be overthrown, the way democracy works they'd just assassinate the people they hate.

DT, I agree, he should, get his stupid self out of office.
Otherwise, no.

Uhh, your sister wont be in danger, cause women can't be drafted..... right?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-09-19 at 20:40:43
I don't think it matters anymore; my older sister could probably still get drafted.

What the heck? Bush isn't going to re-instate the draft for another few years. We haven't even been over their long enough. Rest assured, by the end of his next term though, he WILL reinstate the draft, and that's when the censored.gif is going to hit the fan. You know it's coming, we're going to be stuck there, and eventually they're going to need more men.

Also, Kerry is a lying idiot, no way he can get into office. I can't believe they were short sighted enough to actually make him their candidate.

You people place too much value on human life. This panzy ass world we live in has to be shattered. We need to like, lose half our population. Teach you dumbasses a lesson. Nothing bad ever happens, and what does, is forgotten. Everyone already forgot about September 11th, no one cared on the anniversary of the date. Everyone worries about useless crap like "public safety" People want to ruin the lives of everyone to save one :censored:tard from killing himself. That's .. so DUMB~!! You would BREED idiocy at the cost of ruining the lives of everyone? All these safety rules need to be repealed. Seat belts? Helmets? What is this bull censored.gif . Some people should be allowed to kill themselves. And what's with this lawsuit bull censored.gif ? These cases need to get thrown out of court and the person ought to pay a huge fine for even suggesting the lawsuit in the first place. I kinda got off topic.

And people are like "omg my cousin died in Iraq we should feel sorry" Yeah? How about you honor him for serving in the military and kicking some crazy fanatical muslim ass. :censored:ing fanatics.

I dont care cuz im from norway:)smile.gif but i hope bush is president four more years

I seriously agree with everything Salacious mentioned, in a way... america needs to get its priorities straight.

It will cost more to move out of IRAQ when there are still enemies then it will to stay there and kill all of them before leaving.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2004-09-20 at 14:24:19
I think what Sala is so aggrieved about is the all-enveloping umbra of Political Correctness.

It's gone mad. You can make recommendations like 'Fasten your seat belts,' but it's just common sense. The government need to cover their arses if something goes wrong, you see.
That's so when some idiot cracks his head open, the government can say 'I told you so!' rather than having to deal with people who say they should warn people of the dangers of cycling without a helmet or whatever...

I agree with you though, it's ridiculous.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Dark Templar on 2004-09-20 at 15:08:34
Bush isn't putting a draft in. You have not evidence or truth behind it. Plus, there is not a need for a draft anyway. This is not a full-scale world war.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SaLaCiouS(U) on 2004-09-20 at 16:25:46
And Vietnam was?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2004-09-20 at 16:54:02
Vietnam was a war fought to attempt to limit the spread of Communism and maintain a balance of power. In that debacle, the draft had to be reinstated because people didn't want to volunteer to be sent off to some hell-hole, and casualties were high.

The Gulf War was fought to maintain the balance of power in the Middle-East and prevent Saddam from controlling vital Kuwait oilfields.

No idea why we got caught up in this war. Balance of power again? It's what most wars since the 19th Century have been about:

The Napoleonic Wars, Crimean War, The 'Don Pacifico' Affair, World War I, World War 2 etc.

why do we need 13000 more soldiers if we have a estimated 10000 already there. if i get drafted i will renounce my citizenship and move to someother country.
