I wathced the discovery channel a few days ago and heard that poisonous scorpians venom hold the keys to the cure for diabeties. The only problem is that it will kill people. I think that diabeties will be the next curable disease.

How do they know that, did they use scorpion poison on a rat with diabetes (is it possible?) or did they test it on real people (gasp*)

which form of diabetes was this?

Next disease they fix will be flu. It's the most annoying one of all

You're right. Flu is intelligent and unbeatable. Greatest threat to humanity, yet.

Everyone catches it one day or another. It's the perfect ennemy, it reproduces itself at an incrediabe rate and opens door for new viruses!

I don't know which one will be treated next. There are so many diseases out there and I don't know 1/10 of them!

I think AIDS and HIV those viruses I not sure if their are curable. Cause HIV and AIDs been around for a long time. We, humans got that Virus from :censored:ing monkeys!

The cure for cancer will not be for a long time. But they will soon be able to heal you if you do have cancer sooner. They have CancerSniffing Dogs!

Chronic pain will soon be able to be stopped completely, if you count that as a disease because it never leaves. They are using platypus venom to help be able to stop pain.

As for the flu thing, the only way we would be able to cure it is to keep it from mutating somehow. (which would be VERY hard to do) Blame the mutating on cosmic rays.

Those of you who read Popular Science know what I'm talking about: A researcher has developed nanoshells that attach to cancerous tissue, which you run an infrared beam through. This causes the shells to 'explode', destroying the tumour. The treatment takes one hour.
They've already tested it on rats: After the treatment, the rats became completely cancer-free in 10 days, and stayed that way. Clinical trials are beginning.

Cancer can't be cured. Cancer is when ur body's cell reproduce to many times, thats what Cancer is. Kemotherapy kills all cells in the body, not just the ones that cause cancer. Thats why so many things can cause cancer, its just to many cells in the body. I think that the next thing to be cured is HIV/AIDS. I read an article about AIDS, and they say that some kind of heart medicine slows the HIV virus. It stops them from reproducing, stops them from attacking the white blood cells, and makes more white blood cells. So maybe we are onto something...

Ling, Cancer is when a cell starts growing abnormally, but is still close enough to the real thing for the body not to notice.

I think the best cure for cancer would be to raise the body's awareness to these abnormal cells so they are stopped befpre they develop into something serious

Just letting everyone know, there are cancerous cells in your body everyday. They are just kept in check by other systems in the body. The actual control is something that is dependent on your own genes. So there will be no "cure" for cancer until we can modify our own DNA.

Treatment to get rid of the cancer will continue to get better, (but thats not a cure).




havent heard of the Polio virus have you ? It was CURED back in early-mid 20th century. When you are born you are requied to get a polio shot which protects you from polio for the rest of your life. Smallpox has also been cured. I think you get a smallpox shot too., either after birth or a year or two later.


The closest thing i can think of for a cure for HIV would be to alter our immune systems to an insane degree. (more genetic altering)

Since most of you probaly dont know, HIV the virus that causes AIDS. Infects the body by attacking the white blood cells. The usual method white blood cells fight infection is by actually swallowing the bacterium/virus then its destroyed by internal processes. HIV and AIDS however are not destroyed, abd they soon hijack the white blood cell and use it for raw material to make more HIV/AIDS virus. Basically it uses your own immune system against you.

Eventually it traces itself back to where your white blood cells originate (i forget the term) and there it basically kills that organ off. Which leaves you open to every germ,virus or bacterium floating in the air or otherwise.

The stronger your immune system is the longer it takes for the HIV to turn into AIDS. Babies have that are born with HIV have been known to revert back to HIV-b (the non-deadly form). Reason: babies immune systems are extremly good. Now unless the parents make sure they keep them very health, supplements, healthy diet the usual. There body will eventually go back to HIV-a.

As I stated above though, probaly the only way to solve this is to alter our own immune systems through genetic altering. Br bringing our IS (immune system) at least up to par with a babies we would at least be able fight it off.

Umm, I'd have to say cancer. I read something on Yahoo news about a group of three people finding out something about proteins and cancer, and that it could be cureable now with that info..... I think, unless I'm remembering wrong.
