Report, edit, etc...Posted by TSoldier_Wol[f] on 2004-09-22 at 23:08:59
I say yes. Cause, theres starting to be alot of Koreans! Cause then later on Koreans will stop playing as well.

You dolt, SC has always been popular in korea. Hell, they've even had the starcraft marine on their bags of cheetohs at one time. That's a stupid and racist reason to vote no.

I have voted yes. Starcraft is a classic. For the two years i have had it, it has never gotten old..

No because it has been and ever will be one of the most popular games known to man.

Why isn't there a poll option without ... in it?

ANyway, we won't stop playing SC, at least until SC2 comes out.

I agree with DT, even when SC2 comes out there will still be the die-hard gamers to think of.

Of course people will stop playing it eventually. However, its the longest lasting game ever.

I hate Warcraft 2. :censored:ing game sucks. Alot of them are Hackers too. I only use Warcraft 2 when SC is down for me. I don't play the gameson Warcraft 2. I only use WC2 to make my Accout name alive, Or just chat with my comrades til SC gets installed.

Of course people will still play SC for at least 5 more years... The gamming population will be reduced by half by then, but we're here to compensate that biggrin.gif

Staredit has about limitless possibilities, and we're helping out in researches to make SC more and more original and new, as years pass.

It's there to stay, I think people already noticed...

Then, you're the problem tongue.gif

Go and spread the good news, that's how I got to play SC in the first place. You just don't know your town enough. I don't know anyone around here that plays SC, but I'm sure there are a couple hundreds. They're just "hidden" somewhere...

We could start a rally, a cult, recruit starcraft players in your local area. GOGOOGOGGOGOG

You are all godfathers of your area in starcraft, start a gang. keep it alive. don't delay. don't fail.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by ShadowSnipe4 on 2004-09-23 at 09:30:54
i dont like my town, the only person that I know about who plays starcraft, doesnt have the internet. Plus alot of the population is made up of retired people who yell alot at you...

I think battle.net will shut down the servers for SC before the game dies. However when SC2 comes out a major chunk of players will leave SC for SC2 but now and again play SC.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-09-23 at 09:54:23
Lol... Killing SC earlier would just kill half of Blizzard's costumers. No good idea.

And frankly one of the most stupid idea in a long time xD

The Town where I lived kicked a$$, basically just about everyone who had a computer and played comp games played or used to play Starcraft. In fact it was installed on all the comps in the lab at the pub library where there would actually be little tounery and stuff.

People wont stop playing SC until there is something that could replace it which will probaly never happen except with a sc2. There is just too much orignial stuff with sc that other games just dont choose to have in them. Its also one of the most balanced games Ive ever played. Sc will never die even though mario on SNES isnt multiplayer but there are still people that play it, and its well over a decade old.

Understatement of the century right there. When sc2 comes out anyone with money will be buying that game the second it hits the shelf. And most everyone else will soon follow.

It will, it is already dieing out right now. The game is not geting bog increases in the number of new players joining.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dashrike on 2004-09-23 at 12:34:49
People will obviously stop playing it.

1. I will have definitely stopped playing it when I die.
2. I am a person.
:. Therefore: People will stop playing it.

And yes I know, point #2 is arguable.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-09-23 at 13:03:32
Oh stop using philosophic examples ;P

SC2 will probably be different anyway, they can't make 2 same games with lil improvements and new things and "hope" it'll be better.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Dark Templar on 2004-09-23 at 13:29:00
Of course people will stop playing it, but not anytime soon. WC2 has managed to still have people playing it and its older than SC, and has had a sequel in the series, and still lives on. Also sites and harcore mapmakers like some we have here, keep the game going.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TSoldier_Wol[f] on 2004-09-23 at 23:36:55
I been playing SC for 4 years, And I'm starting to notice there isn't alot of new games that are making made. A few comrades I knew on B.net hasn't been online for a long time! The last comrade that I haven't seen whispered to me one day, And I haven't seen him for a long time. I'm still looking for him, His name was like "StarDefender_402" Or something like that.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Helios on 2004-09-24 at 09:58:27
Maybe you just arent looking hard enough or gettin on at the wrong times. Because I see plenty of new games, sure most of them are censored.gif par to scale.

A large majority of "good" games stopped being made maybe 3 or 3 years ago. Lie now people are bringing back all these 'Bound' and 'Crystal wars' games that were out 4+ years ago. The problem is there are too many rookie map makers out there making even worse maps.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Foamy on 2004-09-24 at 19:23:18
yes, unfortunaly....

Blizzard will shut down thier servers.... sometime... and then ther will be no world for StarCraft...
maybe the rights to have SC peronalized, so that people can have privet servers will come. and then, Maybe NO, SC will never die!...

Last time I checked all Diablo1-2, Stacraft and Warcraft2 run on the same server its only the interface thats different. So they would be shutting down a server that 3 games use which will not happen. And unless it costs Blizzard some big bucks there is even less reason to close the servers.
