I was sure I posted this sample a few months ago, but I think I only showed it to Clokr_
Anyway I hope someone finds this useful.
nice trick, I was actually hoping for a way where the units are exactly the same (not carrieing anything) and still be able to tell the difference
i know what you did. all you did was give the scv's each an individual powerup. but theres a problem with this. you cant rename each one of those scv's, so it would be hard to know witch one was wich when you're new at the game.
It's a cool trick, and I started off making my Lost Temple Moderated map using that, but found it a hassel to have to get the SCVs to grab the powerups, then load in the dropship in the correct order, AND stay in the correct order in the dropship when unloaded/reloaded (if the unload took place over a geyser or large unit it would delay in the reloading process and sometimes throw out of order, which without visable name labels in the dropship made it impossible to tell which is which except by trial and error).
In other words, only use it if you desperately need the extra unit slots and can afford the initial ~.5 second time to get the powerups grabbed and loaded into the transport in the correct order.
Ah, another useful/hard to use policy for Dropship menu's, personally i don't see the real issue, because you can just have more than one dropship next to each other, or alternatives, and use those...
I use two locations, one over all of my Dropship transports, and another tiny one for any units that come out, and if they do it centres on them, and the dropship/shuttle above it, so i know what one they are.
The shuttle can't leave because i just move it back, and make sure its spaced out using the grid position technique.
