would a harry potter type map be good good idea? you could use the dropship systems for spells and make interactive environments and it would kind of be neat. im not going to do this probably but anyone else can.

Yes, there were already some Harry Potter maps and people played them. This would be popular if you made it and made it good.

I don't think she is a bad writer at all. The books are alright, redudant possibly. Though focusing all her attention on the movies was a mistake. A lot of people are interested in Harry Potter and would play any Harry Potter map you made no matter how bad. But you should make it good.

one flaw and it would suck... the spells have to work well and be like the ones in the movies, u could have 7 harry things, one for each movie

I suggest doing it if you really want to, but harry potter is kind of old, so it may be kind of like making a dbz or pokemon based game, old school but still has potentiol.

I don't think it's a good idea to make another Harry Potter Map unless it's very good.
You can completely mess up the idea. You can do it so you control the bad guys and you need to take over the school. Then Harry Potter haters will play it ALOT cause they like the joy of killing computer game units.

Have you guys ever played that Quidditch game on Starcraft? It's really good, with bludgers and everything. It used alliances and computers to achieve an interesting product. I can't find it though, if you have it post it!!!!

lol well maybe you could just use the spells idea for an rpg like you use a spell at a place to unlock a door or something but not harry potter based.

Heres the Lotr kills harry potter RPG!
It doesn't have the auto heal pad. you use potions (6 potions) And 1 skill which is good! I really enjoy the game! Its just hard!

I've played that before. Probably one of the worst non madness maps I have ever played, although the idea itself is very funny.

I don't like harry potter but it would be nice to see a map for it with the spells! And the school... With fun quests might make a great map....

meh, you may be right wolf, i just don't like the whole spell casting thing, it ain't my favorite thing. I like being the rambo type person that runs out with a sword, and slices/dices all around him! I like been the hard

Making a map after a certain movie/book/game/whatever sort of limits your options to simulate the original stuff. Not making your map after anything leaves you with more freedom.
Yet, if you can simulate everything in a decent way, it would make for a nice map.
Perhaps you could have the players play that game, what's it called, with the floating ball, every now and then to gain extra XP if they win.
