What's expected of this team:
Individually established and respected in the community.
Working as a team to keep the "awaiting approval" maps under control by downloading the maps and playing it enough to know it's somewhat worthy to be approved.
Attempt to satisfy the "would you review my map?" requests.
Review maps in a professional like matter, such as, figure out the depth of complexity in triggers, storyline, and concepts.
There shall not be any favoritism or prejudice while fullfilling those duties (ie... rejecting maps because you dislike that person).

Addition requirements:
Fluent and understandable english is a MUST. Reviews would be pointless if members could not understand them.
At least some map skills.

On another note, it isn't my intention to ever make a mod out of a map reviewer, or a map reviewer as a mod. One 'job' per person so they could focus on what's already in front of them.
Also, I hope that no one here wants to become a map reviewer just because they think it'll be cool to be one, but rather, has a full desire to make sure quality reviews are dished out.

Now in choosing who will be on. What are you looking for?
-The best mappers?
-most active people?
-most respected non-moderators?

Activity is *somewhat* proportional to establishment, and respect was stated as a requirement, so yes. I'm also expecting the member to try and be online at least once a day, if even for only 30 minutes, to check the 'waiting for approval' list.
There isn't a very good likelihood a member of less than 1-2 months would make this team, although, you never know. Map making skills are definately a plus in order to judge maps based on their triggers and skill levels. A noobish map maker would practically think anything is cool while a more experienced mapper would be like, 'that could have been done better'. Lastly, I'll be looking at maturity levels...

If you take an honest look at yourself and know you aren't or won't be up to the positions... or for some reason, the hope of maybe, one day you might possibly become a mod changes your mind, edit your post to have something such as 'Retract my desire' or something...
And if you know you are going to be disappointed or even, god forbid, angry that you didn't make the team, your heart isn't in the right place.

So... if you haven't already, post your desires to join this team, fully understanding what's expected of you and fully knowing you can meet those expectitions.

Glad to support this system, which i see as fair and workable if all involved remain true to the cause!

I'll be in. I certainly know what a Starcraft map is capable of, and know how to make one better. There will be no favouratism or prejudice choosings from me.

I'm like a mean ass critic even when i dont mean too!

I'm trying to be nicer in a way.

I'm like the dude to talk to and to help rate the maps and triggers and stuff for my friends.
I hope I could join. I have alot of free time, for now. That might change in the future, just hope not!
But sure I would like to join!

I'd like to join, I've always enjoyed reviewing maps.

Might I make a suggestion though: With so many people wanting to join, maybe split it up into different divisions? Like some take RPGs, some take Defenses, some take Movies, etc. This way certain experts (i.e. SWW for Defenses or Tux for Movies) in their own category would be more efficient reviewers rather than people who don't make many maps or enjoy maps of that type. Of course this is just a suggestion and having everyone review would be just as good. It just seems better to have people who like Defenses over other maps to review the Defense maps.

I think there's going to need to be a screening process.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2004-10-20 at 18:00:06
Now that I got my new Pc and starcraft ready to go at a moment's click...

I'm in.

There should be some sort of test or screening process sonce almost everyone would like to be on the team. It would be quite awful to have everyone on the team.

10-20 people owuld be jsut fine for the team. 10 because if there are too few people then the reviewment of the maps could take some time. if the number of people in the team is too much then the team members would start fighting on wanting to review a map and some of them might take the lazy route out and just say they are in the Reviewing team and not do nothing.

I say that a survey about reviewing maps would be just fine.

smile.gif I was thinking about 2-3 members for this team.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2004-10-20 at 18:06:18
I was thinking about 5 but things can happen.
look at me the other day I couldn't use my PC for 3 days because my dad was using it. Before that I couldn't use my old PC at all for a week.

You do need backup for this and people have lives so you can't expect 3 people to review maps all of the time.

I say all of the time because this is a very demmanding community and with this team they will expect their maps to be reviewed much faster than right now.

Suggestion: Make it 7 to 10 people then.

EDIT:
BTW: Change the map Team color to another one different from the Database Keeper.

I'm thinking there won't be that much demand for reviews.

O.o There wasn't really 'review' section before, yoshi did a couple here and there.

It'll stay at 3 people. I could always add more later. If I add 10 people and I only need 3, then people will moan about being taken off the team.

Although I needed to create seperate permissions for them, I view them as the same... content managers.

Wrong. people here at SEN expect a whole lot and it's logical that right now there ain't supposed to be map reviews and people want them to be reviewed.

Imagine how much they will argue if now they will know that some people have a job to do them reviews, they will be even more furious.
