If for some reason you don't want anyone to be able to select a unit for more than a millisecond, have a trigger like:
Trigger |
Description: |
This Will Work Best For 2 Computer Or Neutral Buildings. Needs Hyper Trigger |
|
Players: |
¤ Player That Owns Unit(s) |
Conditions: |
¤ Always |
Actions: |
¤ Give All Unit(s) owned by Player With Units at Location to Player X
|
¤ Give All Unit(s) owned by Player X at Location to Player Prevously Owning Unit(s)
|
¤ Preserve Trigger |
This would work best for computer buildings because you dont want units running in different directions because each computer is telling it to go somewhere else. If you use this trigger the unit that belonged to player that owned it first will keep the color of that player. Use it for whatever. You will see this in my bound when im finished with it. The Missile Turrets that surround the "Friends Area" are unselevtable. =)
Thats kinda cool, but having a friends area is kind of un-professional
. I usually use a credits area, but go ahead and put friends. Just don't forget the put in good old Master Chief. He saves the world in the year 2552 you know
Sounds an awful lot like what I already did to my Scourge in Rocket Launchers.
Rocket Launchers was yours? Oh man thats an aesome map
. Why don't you link to it through your sig?
Haven't updated those links lately... I'll do that now.
The cool thing is you can order it when it is owned by the computer, so you can't stop your own unit.
Issues with it is that it works from Left downwards, and so if you just want a select group scattered around, but not all the same time, and not every thing of hte same type changed you need a group of locations. Which i call waste!
If you disable a unit that can eb disabled like an engineering bay, but it belongs to a comp and you don't have a detector or shared vision, it will be unclickable, only drawback is it can't move, and it will cloak if you bring a detector to it, then move it away.
I noticed it doesn't seem to do this with Marines for me, but Engineering bay and Barracks and Bunker work for me. I'll have to keep testing.
If you were to do the player thing, make sure they are the same color, so it doesn't make people think they are hallucinating.
Well does that still work for the tech-tree? that way you could own a barracks but have it unselectable and still be able to build bunkers. I think that is what this could really be used for.
yes you can
Nice, Legacy Weapon did you also notice that it keeps your supply up too? That is also very useful. Nice job finding this!
Well, actually if you only own one Barracks, and you keep gaining it losing it, wouldnt there be a chance you wouldn't build, because for that split second you didn't control it?
Yup. So disabling it seems like the better choice.
Actually Coko, I tried this in the mpa that LW gave us, using the tech tree of barracks requiring command center, and I never got that problem. Test it for yourself.
No, if giving back and forth is the same speed, you should not lose vision of this.
If the giving to the comp were longer than the giving to human, you will lose vision for like millisecond or so, but not much...
Still, you keep the supply and you keep the tech-tree extension which is all that really matters.
Good, i didn't have time to test it, though thats got me thinking of an interesting feature to add to things, such as the removal of Tech Tree improvements on my little side project;
Melee Mayhem.
