[CODE][SIZE=7]Two gang's one city, Two sides , One city, Bloods krypts? You decide for me because im bored so answer this damnit.



1. I need some good name for this.

2. Any idea's you want in this time is shortening to put new idea's in so hurry...

3.Wanna actually be in the game and if so what status? *Gang lord,civilian,idiot*

4.If anyone could answer what MPQ does it would be great.

5.Should I continue making this.

6. What would make players want to play this?

3. Sure. I want to be civilian. The first one that gets killed. Or shot at. Work's either way as long as I pop back in randomly through the map.

4. MPQ is basically where Starcraft stores all it's media files (sprites, sounds, movies, etc.). In mods, it can be used to change units sprites and stats and their sounds and stuff. In maps, you can do some neat tricks such as sounds from Starcraft without size, or do what Yoshi did, where the map contains sounds that access the MPQ, but if the players at the other end don’t have those sounds installed, they won’t hear the sounds, but the map would be just as playable, and the transfer size over B.Net would as if there were no sounds. If you want, I can do MPQ work for you.

5. Hmm…it’s up to you whether you want to do this. I say, if you’re interested, go ahead. But if it’s just going to be left there and you don’t really want to do it, then don’t bother, it’s probably not worth it.

6. Well, depends on the style of game play. Personally, I like having lots of teamwork involved, so maybe have each add something unique (a special unit or ability) that can help their teammates in certain situations. Or maybe a Fleet Command style map.

Lol you wanna die in the game, I would rather have you do the MPQ work instead of myself which brings me to the question would I have to wait until the game is finished to insert sounds?

The gameplay is teamwork altough you can play just as fine by yourself except it would be hard to command so many gang members I say this because you only control one unit yourself you can command other members within radius also if another player is near you when you cast a command the command will appear in text on their screen.

And bullet time?? That would be low things to do on my list but not saying it's not goin to be there.

I was thinking of adding random missions say when the town is completely controlled or the other gang empire has fallen a new sequence proceeds such as resident evil comes into play your members deteriate as the minutes pass and military you would normally want them around but in the sequence their a blessing to have around.
This is only one of the say 1-4 possible missions if I go through with this what is your opinion?

Well, I want to be the guy that's constantly killed, but always returns randomly. For comical relief you see.

And no, include all the sounds and stuff in it. I'll have it fixed after you're finished the map.

Just stick the sound in normally and use as you please.

For a screen of your map, convert it to a .jpg or a .gif file with a GFX program and then attach it.

Hmm, nice to see the terrian not being symetrical and all. The middle is going to be filled in, right?

And since it's a city, why don't you include some skyscrapers? And maybe have bridges between them.

And because it is basically a game where you control a few units and micro them, I don't think there should be minerals. Rather, maybe have a system like the Diplomacy maps.

Yeah I was gonna add skyscrapers but im still not perfect a matter of fact im very imperfect at it ;p and I guess I could add bridges but why would there be bridges in a city? Yes the middle will be filled in.

No, bridges between buildings.

And if you expand the map a little bit (really don't know how know), you could add entrances to the buildings, and then the interiors. So then, player can wal out onto the bridges and move building to building.

Im not really gettin what you mean , do you mean like a bridge to each building from like the top of"structure"? Right now Im smoothening out the structures only takes like 9 minutes.

Okay, you know in some skyscrapers, they would have a small bridge to go to an adjacent skyscraper. It's basically a small bridge in the sky, where pedestrians walk across. I believe the twin towers had this type of bridge. Anyways, we could have units walk across these bridges to get from one building to the next. They get to shoot down while units on the bottom shoot up.

Only problem is that there isn't a way of destroying these bridges without having to remove the ability for the units to shoot at each other (i.e. you can have a building substituted as the bridge, and then on another place on the map, have units able to wlak across it. Now, if the bridge building is destroyed, the bridge would kill anybody on it and would no longer serve as a bridge, and instead, units might "fall off" the building if they walk through a blown out bridge. Also, when the bridge is destroyed, you might want to make it so that units that falls don't immediately die, but rather, suffer a lot of damage to their HP.

More idea: Maybe the units inside can also destroy the bridge by blowing away some of the "support" structures of the bridge itself in the interior. This could be useful if you trap a group of enemies on a bridge and want to collaspe it.

I see what your saying but what would I use as "The Bridge"? Would I use a actual bridge doodad? If I did that it wouldn't let unit's walk under it, or are you saying the bridge and two areas are excluded from "actual buildings" and taken to another place and there is a bridge there?
And the destroy the support for the bridge is a great idea, I will do that if I can pull this off by the way heres a nother pic it's still in crappo form but I tried smoothening it out -Hope its not to bad

Hmm...I would say use floating buildings, but that's the problem. Units on the bridge won't be able to shoot out. But guess that's the only alternative.

The floating building I would use is the Engineering Bay or the Factory.

Not really much info, but I'll go with stuff from the first post.

1. Weird Gang City Thingy

2. It's your map. You're supposed to have the ideas. Actually, there's not really much information about the map for me to add to anything.

3. I'd like to make an appearance as a Stukov on disabled doodad state, and (optional) sing Ice Ice Baby.

4. It allows you to modify... anything.

5. If you think its going to be a good map, make it.

6. It would have to be a good map. MPQ probably wouldn't make people want to play it, except in private. tongue.gif

Heh, I guess blaq doesn't come onto the forum much.

Anyways, here's a semi-update. We've got lots of idea that we probably will implement, but our biggest problem now is choosing the style of play, such as RPG (you control one unit), small squad (you control a small group of units, think of the Installation maps), and large army (self-explanitory).

Suggestions? We think we might have you start off as one unit, but you may gain other units throughout the course of the game. Or, other unit might help you, but you still are one unit. Large army is plausible, though not really interesting.

But yeah weve decided to resize the map, space wants it 256x256 I want it around 200 what do you think?
I haven't been on the forums lately because bball practice and planning a dance for school so now that that's off my hands im here wink.gif.

We still havent really determined what kinda game this is "Squad based, army based or whatever" But Im going to talk to space about lettin you choose game settings in the beginning like say you don't want to many options that it confuses you you can narrow gang orders down to however many you want and Im using the space bar on the keyboard for a quick gang orders.

When you click on the space bar once you go to gang orders and when you click again you go back to your main character.

But yeah we are hoping to use deathknights skyscraper method but im kinda guessin people will complain about stealing ideas but whatever.

We had a minor setback my map had 12,367 MEGS!!
Because some music strings remained in the game when deleted so I just sent the raw CHK. file to space and hoepfully he fixes it!

It's kinda fixed, though I'm struggling with the ISOM part of the resizing. I don't know what the setting for the ISOM should be. Aww well.
