Ok. There is some good news and some bad news. Also some questions...

Bad news:

•I was originally going to include sprites, sprite-units, and disabled sprite-units, in the doodad palette(They could be placed anywhere and stacked), but since Staredit is only accepting 511 doodads, I can't do it. So there will be no sprite units and such. You're also only limited to like 250 or something to place anyway. So I will include some square terrain pieces that you can place and maybe a few other custom doodads. But either way, all doodad slots will be filled.

•As I was researching the brushes, I would have thought I could include a lot, but I am actually only limited to 13.


Good news:

•I have been ripping apart Staredit.exe(which I copied and renamed (Nice Censor Evasion)edit.exe for the time being), and have found some interesting things, but there is still a lot to look at.

•I can include new brushes in only the tilesets that have less than 13 brushes. Since I am limited to 13 brushes, I don't know which brushes to include or make.

•I can include new doodads, but am limited to the maximum ammount of 511.



Questions:

1. What should I name this editor(It will be included with 3rd Party Patch.)?

2. a. What brushes should I include? There are a wide variety. There are line brushes, cross brushes, brushes that screw up the isom section so you place rectangular tiles(perminitely disallows you to place isometric terrain in Staredit, makes you stuck with rectangular tiles).

2. b. What terrain type do you want that cross-brush, line-brush, etc. to be(Must be one of the current terrains)?

2. c. What "new map" tile group do you want it to place(When you go File >> New, you can choose a tileset and terrain type. The type of terrain a 'new map' can start out with can be different from the brushes. By tile group, I mean group of tiles like in the Starforge Master tile palette, each line is a tile group[well something like that] and 00 would be null terrain.)?

3. What new "doodads" would you like me to include(Can not be sprites, sprite-units, or disabled sprite-units, as each unit would take up 1 of my 511 limit and there are at least 300 doodads in badlands terrain, so that's more than half of my 511 limit. However there can be a terrain/unit or sprite combo.)?

4. Do you know if this can be converted for macintosh users?

Towards the name, i would advise something like TerrainExpansion, just because it is interesting and different from "TerrainEdit" and all those.

[I hope you see the funny joke within that name?]

The concept of this will be difficult to deal with, so try and keep it from getting out of hand. Maybe provide a better overview of the information you know to be dealing with the Starcraft.exe rather than expecting everyone to know about Brush details and such.

I'd choose Line Brushes myself;
Don't include to many "Null" Types but maybe some Underwater effected types, beaches and such?
I'd love to see Doodads that really help the themes of the maps, by creating new age buildings and such.

Yes, I could. I may include requested sprites.


Note that I'm still ripping staredit.exe apart. So there may be more to come. I know the way I explained the brushes and whatever was bad, but... I'm not exactly sure how to explain it.

If so, then that doesn't work.
Why?
Well, tell me how you can tel whether I mean Ice or Desert terrain when I tell you that at grid location 128x64 is tile 12-01

No im not trying to take advanatge of my name, its Highedit because of the High level of terrain things you can do with it

By Doodads, if i think i know what you mean, you should add 3D building things, like 2 for the roof (left+right) 2 for middle and 2 for ground, so we can make our own buildings esaily

If your wondering what he means by Tiles' he means that YOU could draw something in a Paint Tool, or whatever and place it into the Mod Starcraft as a new Tile.

Actually if you just imported the Tile pieces it would be, and just replace previous spots with them, though it would take you a LONG time.

But I don't think each mode would be able to support the other sprites. if it did work though, that would ka, but I'm 99.9% sure it's impossible unless he makes a new editor from scratch like SF or scmdraft.

Ok.. update: I have been able to increase the limit from 50000 for the mineral field and geyser ammount to 65535 and some trigger ammounts(like set minerals) to a much higher number. I've been trying to increase other limits but so far I have had no luck.
