I'm no expert on polotics so all I can do is express my opinion. I am kind of torn on this issue. I think they should not be so harsh because we are filling our prisons with these small violators and prisons are not cheap. But i also think they should be super harsh because i think drugs are the dumbest thing man has ever created. There so pointless. Maybe if the penalties were harsher, people wouldn't do or sell drugs. In some places drug trafficing is done by many people, so if they couldn't do it anymore, they would have to get real jobs right? So unemployment would lower right?

People will always smuggle drugs. it is high risk but it is a way for poor people who need money bad to get rich fast.

Ya you're right, and i think thats total BS. Just because they are poor doesn't mean they can't get a job. I hate lazy people who stuipdly spend their money. It's their own damn fault. There getting money faster than people with real jobs and they're doing it by destroying our country(in a sense).

Wtf? Harsher pentalities for drug violations? Those types of criminals already get harsher pentalities then rapists, murderers, and molestation criminals.
Here's what we do:
Give bigger fines, less jail time for drug violations
Re-enable the death pentality and kill anyone that can be 100% proven to be a killer.
Castrate anyone that is a proven multi-offender rapist.

Isolated I want to hug you. Originally I thought that we should just let these poor losers 
themselves with drugs, but then I realized that would just be moving money out of the economy. Isolated's plans for offenders are much nicer. I also think we should repeal all safety laws, but we have to be ready by preparing thousands of graves for all the losers who get themselves killed. Also the legal system has to be prepared to throw their cases out of court. It's not the government's job to protect people from killing themselves. If those people do kill themselves.. we'll have cleansed the gene pool!

Uh, slapping offenders with larger fines will only increase crime. Chances are they're already broke from their habit and won't be able to pay, anyway.

nozumo is right, giving them a higher fine will just encourage them to do more crime to pay it off
as for jails, alot of people are criminals because they think itds the only way they can feed themselves, jails give you food, shelter, clothing... so some people it is actually paradise(as long as you or sum1 else doesnt act up)

i agree with u iso, they shouldnt have harsher penalties than those, those crimes are more serious....i say send them to texas, they use the death penalty (last i heard of) so if we continue catching drug dealers, free trip to texas, as for rapers molesters and others....FREE TRIP TO TEXAS! i kno i am pretty much making light of the situation, but there is nothing we can really do, i mean cocaine keeps coming in from columbia, so wat r we gonna do, bomb columbia?

Our police officers should go after the cartels and big dealers, not the street corner dealers. As long as the big guys are around, ur prisons will continue to fill with the guys who make a minute amount of money in comparison.

Drug taker shouldn't be punished, they should be re-educated. Bring them to me and I'll freeze them for 2 years and 10 months and they will be out good as new.
Drug dealers should be harshly punished...they should be tortured to death...(i.e. give them drugs to take for 10 days, then lock them up without drugs for 2 weeks, repeat step one and two till they die of madness)
