I believe it is possible to go forwards in time, but it is currently 'impossible' to go back in time.

Albert Einstein has developed a theory that says the faster you travel, the slower time goes around you. (It has been scientiically proven with accurate clocks and jet places) It is not a speed difference of just a few km per second, the changes in time around different speeds only vary greatly when you travel to around 87% of the speed of light or more. If you travel really fast, You are not necessarily travelling to a different dimension of another time, but because the time around you is going slower - the world around you is travelling relatively faster. In this way, it seems like you have gone to the future. Albert stated that there is no direct time or space. What you are seeing now is actually what has happened perhaps 1 millionth of a second before you saw the object.

The theory of relativity is also very intersting, Isaac Newton once said that everything around the universe travel at different speeds, however Einstein said that if everything travels at different speeds it is impossible to measure speed correctly because you can only calculate speed in relation to another object. Say for example, the Earth is moving 3 km/ second, but a tree on earth seems as if it is not moving 3 km/ second. Only because you are also travelling 3km/ second so it seems stationary.

However, Eintein also stated it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light because to do that, your mass would be 0, and being 0 would mean you never existed. (black holes should also have mass because if black holes have such strong gravity - it must have mass. However everything that goes into a black hole collapses so I'm pretty unsure how it works - Sowwi, I don't specialise this area).

Nonetheless, physically I believe it is possible to see the past... if the universe is significantly cirucular, if there was a lend powerful enough to bend and capture light that revolves light around the universe once, what we see in the lens would have taken place many years before we saw it.

Another theory is that because the universe is expanding, (big bang theory) time is going forward... when the universe start to contract, time may go backwards. However I do not believe in this theory ( i believe in big bang, but not 'if the universe contract time goes backward') because it has many holes and is a sweeping statement.

Black holes and worm holes may also be a possibility of time travel, but I will cover those later and get you guys posting.

About your Lens, since the universe is infintly big the light would never come back to you...

We can see into the past every night. Say a star is 200 light years away, this means it take light 200 years to reach us. So therefore we are seeing this star as it was 200 years ago, and it will take 200 years for us to see it in 2004.

I not sure, bout it wassnt mass 0, it was infinite mass

A black hole is when a large star (>supergiants) end there life, they collapae in on themselves, the extreme froces compact all the mass of the giant star into an area the size of a pea, giving this small area the gravity of the giant star, plus a

load more.

about wormholes, would someone post something about them?

yes i believe in the big band theory.. and yea black holes are just collapsed Giant Stars that suk in anythin around it 'slowly of course'

and then compacts it... im pretty sure the speed of light is impossible as ive heard that if that were to happen.. ull be striped into particles and would basically die.... Worm Holes i think is like a mini black hole.. that wont really kill u... its like a portal thingy... iono.. i think im talkin bs right now...

Don't you guys watch StarGate SG-1?
If you havn't let me give you a small detail about it!

Its a show on tv that is based on the movie StarGate.
Its a giant big ring object made by the acients or the road builders.
It has 39 symbols and 9 chyrons(I cant spell!) You need 7 correct corresponding symbols to make a connection to make a worm hole or the Event Horivzon.
Since matter can only travel one way, you can not enter a incoming worm hole (I dont know exactly what happens if you do that.)
The Stargate changes your molecules to energy and sends you to the Stargate you dialed and you are reintergrated from there! They use a tremendus about of energy as well. Theirs a hidden part of the government that funds the project to protect the planet. Theres teams that goes through the gate and do missions and stuff. On the way they start geting their enemy, the goa'uld, angry and they make allies with the Tok'Ra and the Asguard. Anyways back to the topic!

If you seen the episode 1964, then you should know that when you gate into a solar flare you bounce back to the same gate you went into and back out but into the future or past depending on how you do it.

Now in real life!

NO TIME TRAVEL IS NOT POSSIBLE IN REAL LIFE!!! Or maybe just with the technology we have and our mathamatics and stuff like that are still not ready to be able to time travel. Besides IF!! you did time travel it would corrupt the time stream in that demenstion and even possbly stop you from entering back to your demenstion or time.

If it really was possible time travel would probly be banned.

If we are able to time travel, another possibility is that the things you change only affects another parrallel universe... but I still believe in Albert Einstein's relativity theory that there is not exact time and space.

About wormholes.. as most of you know, black hole have strong gravitationally pulls... it alters time and space around it greatly. Let's give you an example.. have a sheet of grid paper, put a marble on it, not the paper will bend down stretching the squares of the grid beside it therefore altering space and time around it. The pulling of the grid paper is the resemblance of the gravity of a black hole. Except black holes occur in space and is 4D based. Now to wormholes... as stated before... blackholes bend the space and time around them. When two black holes have certain properties satisfied, the bent space from two blackholes forms a tunnel. This is a tunnel that allows anything travelling through it go to another place and time in the universe. However these tunnels (wormholes) only occur for a very short time because the strong gravity destroys itself immediately. Hypothesised wormhole travlling is using anti-gravity to sustain the wormhole long enough for any object to enter it.

I'm sure that it is very possible, but it is near impossible to get time travel now, i doubt if humans will ever crack the secrets of time travel. Maybe if we make nice with aliens, we can, but for now no. For all we know, the events of the world could have been shaped by people interfering with time machines!

Wait is mass like the amount of space you take up or is it like weight and stuff like that. If its weight cant you make it zero with forces and stuff, like gravity. And when astronauts are in space, their shuttle is going around the earths orbit so fast that there like in free fall (dont remember waht it called) , so they're weightless

Um..sorry to tell you this but logically all those things are impossible and invented by stupid people. The reason being: they say it starts off with energy comming out of nothing or dimensions colliding...but thats impossbile cause WHERE DID THEY COME FROM? its not logical. Blackholes are known that they exist but they doesn't affect the time.
Wormholes are just a theory. For dumbasses: they are short-cuts in the space. Like teleporting from one side of the space to another one. I dont think they have to do with time travels.

Travel to the future is possible and tested, but travel to the past is not that easy. There is people that says that it is impossible because if it werent we would have people from the future coming here, and we dont.

Its like made up! They used god because they didn't know what caused it so they just blamed it on a unrealistic thing like God! Their is evidence of evolution. How about our technology huh?! they got these tiny peice of thing that can hold like up to 1gb, like a protable hard drive! In like 1996 the hard drives could only fit up to like what 50gb? now they can go up to like over 250gb! Thats just f-in crazy okay!

Time travel might be possible, but it wouldn't matter because we humans are too dumb to use it.

To take something back in time you have to account for many things.

I'll use an example:

If you try to take your dog back in time, what happens to the air in its lungs? As you cannot create or destroy matter, what will happen to the patch of air previously undisturbed back in time that you are trying to put the said dog in? What will happen to the empty void previously occupied by the dog? No air would be there because your dog's body had taken up that space. What about the air you dog was trying to breathe in/out the moment you try to send him back?

Basically these questions also apply to Teleportation...

Note that I'm not saying the questions are impossible to answer; just for humans.

Time travel is a possibilty, but we do not know how to do it persay. We have a general idea of how to go into the future, but until we uncover the exact thing we must do to go far ahead we will never know. Also we don't have the technology to do so. 1 more thing to add, If you have to go a certain speed to go into the future, and our bodies can only take a certain amount of punishment, it is possible that we are capable of going into the future, but it may be a high risk situation

It IS possible to slow down time. At least your perception of it... Adrenaline... Makes you percieve things as if they were slower and gives you strength you normally wouldnt have...

Time and motion are caused by our inability to perceive everything at once. You can choose any path you want to take but you cant change the things that you already experienced.

So basically you can go forward but you cant go back. Even if you could speed up our perception of time our bodies would still age. So you wont be able to visit the year 8000. I think even with the most advanced technology thats the best we could ever do.
