I've been thinking about weapon switching is theres any maps that have weapon swtching? with the hp system like so when you switch a weapon its the same hp.

Is there any map like that?

You have to use "virtual hp" if you intend on doing that.

I would have to say that Diablo II Truer RPG is a bit crude.
You still have your own unit attacking normally plus the weapons which you don't control what to attack.

you can replace the unit with a civilan. i meant the concept anyway

Nah, just use like switch units, so when a civ goes up to the area for a shotgun, and you unload the unit called "Pick up Item", remove all civs and create one Ghost called Shotgun. (Or different unit, what ever u want)

I prefer virtual HP myself for most things.
Though, not only will my Metroid Evolution include weapon switching and weapon aiming(a bit primitive though... "attack left" "attack right" "attack up" "attack vertical"), it will also use non-virtual HP while not maikng you gain HP from switching weapons.
This is going to be because the weapons aren't under your control; only Samus herself is.
The main 2 weapons will be Stackable Units, and the rest, I'm not telling.

You could alwasy use a mod but...

In an RPG: You could have it 2xspeed and preplace a burrowed unit under a guy. The Burrowed unit will act as hp and will get attacked. If it dies well... you die. Because its 2x speed it wont really slow down ur unit. You could then just switch you unit on the op to attack and move around

Actually it might, because certain units will not move any faster in x2 or fire faster, and suffer from less Micro ability.

So to answer the QUESTION that was asked... No you can't do that. There are no triggers to tell what a unit's health is at any given time so if you switched units it would be like a free heal, and that's lame. The only options are, like they said, virtual unit HP. Which would mean that you keep track of the HP using triggers, but that means that you can only take damage with triggers. Like, if a scourge runs into you, count that as 1 damage. Or something. Then you have the other idea, which is to have one "main" unit, such as a civilian. Then you have "Weapon" units which are invincible and they follow your main unit.

A take off of what he said.

You could have the weapon be invicible and have it normal speed. Then have a ling or something burrowed under the weapon as your 'health'.

For the weapon switching, try a death counter.

When you switch weapons, do people really attack the weapon? No. Find a different way of using "weapons" then. Try using a walk-thru sprite-unit civilian, virtual HP, and when he gets a weapon, the weapon will be "inside" him... or something like that. :/
