I was wondering about the next election, and who i thought would run. Much talk has been going on about how the Democratic party needs to make major changes if they plan to win next time. So who do you guys think would be good candidates?
And because Bush can't run again next election, who would make good Republican candidates?
I think for the Democratic party, Hillary Clinton should run. I don't think she'd win, but it would be a good choice as making a step toward having a female president for the first time.
Because I'm pretty left wing, I think McCain should run again. Although he does tend to tow the party lines a lot, I think he is pretty open-minded and sincerely wants to reach across the aisle to unite both parties.not even 4 days after the election and you already are choosing the next pres...
Umm...no. I'm just seeing what politicians you guys like. A lot of speculation has been about Kerry running again and I figured this was a good way to talk about how people feel about that or other candidates.
i think arnold should run, but hes not an american born citizen ARNOLD FOR PRESIDENT (of the state of california)
http://www.jibjab.com/play.asp?contentid=1but i think nadar should run again, he got 1% of the vote, he should feel accomplsihed[/sarcasm] i dont think kerry should run again, i dont like him
No, the Democrats need a moderate, or the bible-hugging, god-fearing conservative will bring them down again. I wish Clinton could run again.
I think John McCain or Hilary Clinton next time.
I dont really care who runs in the next election, but I think a Democrat should win it, just to shake things up in Congress. As for Hilary Clinton running, sounds good, but I dont think todays society will be accepting to having a woman president just yet. But hey, four years.
Senator John Mcain no doubt in my mind if he runs next election he'll win. He would of won last time in 2000 but Bush beat him for Republican canidate because of his dad.
McCain is also not as onservative as all the other Republicans who ran in 2000. In 2008, he may have the same problem.
id rather have clinton run rather than kerry, the lesser of the two evils i suppose
Well if Mcains decides to run he probally has Arizonas vote
whos mcain? (D) ® (I) (F)?
He is a Republican and senator for 22 years or so in Arizona,.
o, i wouldnt kno then, because i live in new england and thats pretty far away from arizona, we try and stay out of the western coast when traveling because my dad had some problems with my uncle, and now they dont talk anymore, so we try and stay on the east coast, michigan is the farthest we've went but since im pro-republican WOOT WOOT MCAIN
I think it would be interesting for someone like Bill Gates to run for prez, since he is rich and wouldnt be doing it for fame or fortune, just to get the job done, and he could pay for his own campaign...so ya a thought to chew on..
You have to like Govener or soemthing like that for a term or two and you have to be old enough.

Well, you dont have to be a former Governor, but it sure helps a lot, since it gives the impression that you have more experience as an executive. Reagan, former governor of California \m/

Actually there was some speculation that Kerry would have McCain run as his Vice President. But McCain again chose to tow party lines and stick to supporting Bush - even though he doesn't agree with some of his policies.
You do have to be something though like senator once or something along those lines.
I'll go look that up now.
P.S. Bush was never a Senator.
Found it (And skipped to the parts that pertain to this topic):
Article II. - The Executive Branch
Section 1 - The President
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice-President chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.har har...
Pity I'm not qualified, or else I will go for the next election...
But IF I'm an american, no one is going to support me...
