In the news they were talking about how schools arent educting students properly, well thats a fact some kids in my lcass at school are still having trouble reading I mean what is this bull sending kids who cant even sound out 4-5 letter words. Who should we blame I mean those kids are the ones who screw around dring class but the teachers should notice if the child is not progressing in class.

Its called phonics... noone teaches it anymore.... i was taught by that *not hooked on phonics* and im very very literate...

get them hooked on phonix, but seriously, its not the teachers fault he/she cant teach if the student doesnt cooperate, it takes (cant believe im saying this) teamwork to learn....*washes mouth out with soap* i sound like a kindergarden teacher...."teamwork to leanr"...shoot me now

Hmm well if its family matters then they should get help but even in math they get confused on soem thing we learned in 3rd grade.

Yeah i hate that... theres only 1 level of Algebra 1... and all of the slow kids are in my class... they are like WHAH!??!?!? when we are just plotting the y=mx + b stuff... even just working with integers!!!!
I learned that stuff in 6th grade... i was in prealg in that grade.. but because i had a C in the class... i failed... (b+ to pass, i just didnt turn in work etc...). I took it again 7th grade... got an A. Took Prealg 2 in 8th and was the highest ranking student in that class... this year im stuck with people who dont know crap!... i will be reviewing till AT LEAST 1/2 year is up...

lmao....haha...i learned that so long ago, im in 9th grade taking honors geometry, which is regular geometry, but we don't take 2-3 days on 1 sections we take 1 day per section........i don't know why thats considered honors, id like to have more of my friends in that class, but they are in "stupid geometry" which really stinks

Stop making it sound like you know everything. If you know everything and make fun of stupid kids, it just proves you're just as retarded as them. Either help them, or leave them alone. They'll fail in life anyway, why does it matter? Tell your teachers to put you in some independent study or something. Then you can work everything you want at any pace you want without anyone to bother you.

Im not making fun of them to them... i try to help them.... but they are jsut retards... i tried to take the course over the summer but i couldnt get in... *sigh* and no i didn ont fail... *wishes he could take 2 full calsses over the summer* I havent learned 1 new thing in that class.. oh wait i did... that the teacher is a

Parents need to sit their kids down and enforce a study habit or something. Just because we have schools doesnt mean thats where they get all their learning.
The students themselves need to put in some effort on their own part. Nobody learns anything just sitting there.
Some schools are underfunded, and there ARE teachers that just dont give a damn about their students.
Lots of ways to look at it.

Our school has a class for half the year on algebra that covers the whole book and one class that takes a whole year to cover the book. Theirs also a class that just covers inroduction to high school mathmatics. maybe he just doesnt try because he doesnt care, like above in all the other posts how it takes teamwork to learn and how if the student doesnt try, he or she cannot learn, that could be the reason why he or she fails basic reading
