The garbage forum is a waste of space. This is supposed to be a website for map making, not a bunch of retards talking to eachother about 
that doesn't matter. It's counter-productive and it brings the wrong crowd here. Who cares if 99% of you losers post most of your stuff in there, that's not the point of this site. If you don't like what I'm saying you shouldn't even be here. This is supposed to be a site dedicated to map making. Look at the number of topics and the number of replies in garbage. Thats almost half the stuff on SEN. Garbage. I think it's time to take out the trash.

I disagree here, SEN may specialise in map making. However, it is also a space for map makers to socialise and talk about other things during their mapping process. It is more of a relief for the map makers. Currently, we have not seen any wilful damage done to the website because of the garbage forum. Moreover, what good will it do if the Garbage forum was taken out?

Sometimes intelligent talk just isn't a means of liesure for people. The Garbage forum is a unique and specific attraction for map makers to come here and Map Make because they can do more fun from just 'map making'. Serious discussion just isn't the type of forum for everyone.

i dont think so because its relaxing being able to stop and do something else after working hard on your map. i do agree that some threads are really dumb and spamish though

You dont need a fourm to talk to eachother. Instant messagers are perfect for talking about stupid crap, and easier and faster too. This site dosent need a garbage fourm.

Forums that produce intelligent conversation are more likely to attract map makers than a garbage forum where anything goes. People are here ONLY for the Garbage Forum. Some of these people DONT'T EVEN PLAY STARCRAFT!

Kenoli, sometimes people form a community because we meet each other and want more of other's opinions. People won't have everyone's Instant Messenger's addie and will not always be on. We can leave a thread in the garbage for other people to reply. Sometimes in the garbage forum, there are quite semi-serious topics or someone's homework or questions on programming/flash people may want to learn. It's always good to know what other people think and help others. We can learn from other people's questions, so it's not fully garbage.

As mentioned before, I think trashy topics are the relief for map makers. Every forum have their own uses.

People can decide whether they want to have an 'intelligent conversation' or not. They can go into 'serious discussion' and have a conversation with intelligent people. The garbage forum does not affect them in anyway. We don't need to come to the conclusion of removing something that has been part of SEN for so long. Some people who don't even play starcraft may come here, but it is a good way to socialise with non-map making people... close-minded map makers can post in the map making forums and the garbage forum culd just sit there as a tool in the toolbox.

I understand the arguement. But, there are some topics that aren't Serious Discussion but still hold a place in the Garbage Forum. Besides, without anywhere to put tons of topics, we would have to delete almost half of our posts per day, and that's more work than what should have to be done.

Hence the name Garbage....broods of idiocy are garbage, thus belong in the garbage forum, and insane, that is a stupid idea, why should StarEdit give out minerals if you aren't helping anyone (for the most part) you only get minerals for your serious opinion on things (Serious Discussion), for talking about games because Starcraft is a game (General Gaming), and the rest are helping people with their maps so give me 1 reason why we should give minerals to Garbage, as some people said, it is mostly spam, so that will only cause more and more spam....
