During the pre-election days, many people talked about reinstating the draft. If you were drafted would you join the service, or become a draft dodger?

Draft dodoger, I'd rather be a hippie smoking pot then a communist follower killing innocents that didn't even have WOMD.

Because, drafting is such of a comunist thing to do.

If I was goin' to fight for my country, I would join willingly, but if someoned tried to draft me into the army...
Then well,
Time to head for a border ;P, or break a limb.. but thats a bit ouchful -.-

So, I'd dogde it.

I'd be in Canada so fast, there is no way I'm going to torture/kill innocent civilians, just because my country tells me to. I've heard people call draft dodging unpatriotic, I disagree; you can still be patriotic, even if you don't have flags all over your house.

Since when does America order directly to soldiers to "torture/kill innocent civilians"?

Why are you a citizen of country you're not willing to fight for? And don't give me this crap you don't support it, the job of a soldier is to follow orders not question them.

There is no draft anyway, and dont start that bull crap about Bush saying stuff about it. He never agreed to anything of the sort. The draft idea was started in congress by a democrat and never got any further. We have no need for a draft.

I'm an american citizen is U.S. Territory(Puerto Rico) and they can't draft us puertoricans in Puerto Rico since we aren't an oficial part of USA, we is jut a colony and if they start drafting us we go in the White House and close that damn thing down.

I would go but im only 13 and by the time they could I would have made a army of millions to kill them.

I'm not going to die for any ideal. Ever. In fact, I'm never going to hurt another human being except in self-defense. What's the point of preserving an ideal if you're dead?

I question anything that seems wrong to me. Now consider how my brain works, I question everything :/

i personally think that mr.Bush will not make the draft thing because he even said so in his presidential speech so we shouldnt worry about drafting's its like a 90% chance theres not going to be a draft. And plus we only got like 22000 troops in iraq and America has about 4 million troops throughout the entire world
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kow on 2004-12-12 at 09:44:21
And, we arent losing that many troops, per se, than people make it out to be. But still, its a loss.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by notnuclearrabbit on 2004-12-12 at 10:13:35
I know that there won't be any draft. And I agree with CheeZe(U), it seems wrong to me that we can't solve anything without killing people. I'd be willing to fight for my country, if it were under direct attack, which it hasn't been for at least 3 years. Now that we've gone into Iraq, are we safer? NO WAY! This has just provoked the people that already didn't care for us.
