Here are a bunch of random landscape pics that I made with a free program called Terragen, which you can download here.

If you think you can challenge me, then go ahead and make your own - it's fun when you get the hang of it. smile.gif

I tried and failed miserably, how teh hell do you get the sky and sun ans clouds to show?

I'm on the Mac version, but it might be helpful if you checked the boxes saying 'render sky/atmosphere' etc. It might be the same in the Windows version.

I'll post a short tutorial as well - hopefully you Windows users can read .rtfd files.

Failing that, I'll just send it as a .rtf with the pictures in a compressed file.

Hey, those are pretty good, High. I'm going to have to come up with a response.

Hmm...could take a few minutes.

Here's one I made just now of a muddy lake, and a few old ones:

And check these out: http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/gallery/gallerymain.php

I have nothing on these guys - their landscapes are amazing.

Those are nice. Before I didn't want to have another program on my comp...guess not.

I have a lot of time on my hands (although this took only 15 minutes), but I particularly like this one which I just made...

Actually, I'm going to add all my new ones in here - here's another:

Try setting the quality of the rendering to maximum, those are good but they look really grainy.

thx, but I tried that and even tho it looks alittle better it takes much more time to create a render when it's set to max... when on ordinary I wait 12 seconds or so for a render, on max I need to wait 5 minutes till it's done... :\

Wow, you must have a slow processor, AqoTrooper. It takes 2 minutes to create an 800x600, pretty complex scene on my comp.

But then, this comp does have a 64 bit G5 processor... w00t.gif

well... I don't create 800*600... I create 1024*768.

Yeah, that would be why it was so slow... Try 640x480 or 800x600. Most of my images are those dimensions.

Couldn't resist posting a couple of new scenes, seeing as the topic just hit its second page. biggrin.gif

The first one looks quite sucky, but it's ok once you get a load of that sandy rock terrain. wink.gif
