Staredit Network -> Concepts -> Virtual HP: Differents Damages..(new)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-12-29 at 13:07:01
Well I was wondering about using Virtual HP and I had this idea:

- Everyone Know How The Virtual Hp? If not, Click on the link: http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=7482

-I think I found a way to make a certain Unit do is personal amount of damage...
==============================
-When a Burrowed Unit die (Let's take a Zerglin) You should use something like:
==============================

-P1: Player
-P2: Burrow Zerglin
-P3: Zealot ennemis

..
Put a Leader board Of "exemple" Kakaru with at most 100 Kakaru. That represent the Life of The "unit"
TRIGGERS:
==================================================
CONDITION:
P2 Control at most 0 Zerglin
always.

ACTION:
Create a burrowed Zerglin for P2 at Player 1 Following Unit location.
Preserve triggers
==================================================
CONDITION:
"exemple: P3 Marine kill at least 1 zerglin owned by P2"

ACTION:
Substract 3 Kakaru
Set Death Count for Player2 to 0
Set Death Count for Player3 to 0
Preserve...

(After, You can change the marine for a zealot and substract more Kakaru)
==================================================

-Now you could have to do it for every ennemis unit kind on the map and put each damage for each one...
-I don't know if it's working with 2 splashing units....

Exemple: Zealot Kill 1 ling: Remove 5 "life" / Marine Kill 1 ling: remove 6 "life" ect..ect...
I hope this is new, if not i'm sorry.

After reading it a few times I got it (it'as not unclear, my brain is just screwed up tongue.gif) That's a really nwat idea, and I've never seen it anywhere esle before. I'm gonna use it probably if that's ok with you, biggrin.gif (wait, of course it is, that's why you posted it).

Anyways, this is really neat, it requires the extra players with is a downside, but it'd work great in single player maps, or 2 or 3 player maps. Nice job, biggrin.gif

Well, I get it now. It's just like the original virtual hp thing, just refined in another way. Hope someone can put this idea to use.

Nice job posting this, I had this idea for when I made my Virtual HP thing, but I decided to make regional attacks higher. Good job though. cool.gif

Does that mean English isn't your first language? I'm always surprosed when I leanr English is someone's second or third language on this forum, I never would have guessed. tongue.gif

I'll try incormporating this system into a map I'm making, but I think I may stop that map, I don't know =\

Nop, English Aren't my main language...

Very nice virtual hp, and I'm assuming that each player only has only one unit as for an enemy right? Or else you would need some kind of way to detect which unit kills the ling right? Because dont kills only show that the player has killed that many and not each unit? Unless you have only one type of unit on the map at a certain time.

You could use p9-12, you couldnt create units for them, but you can create a unit for any other p1-8 and then give them to p9-12 very fast

Uh oh... Yea I saw this. You can't set which unit killed another unit in death...

Damnzor! When finally I just found a new way of concept...it's screwing up. Unless 1 ennemi come into a Location always following the "Hero" I don't see another way of detecting... awww dumb-->Sessase<--bmud

Even so, you would still be limited to 7 different enemies if you gave each comp one type unit, using the method Sessase posted. I think a game might be a little boring with only 7 different enemies, unless you set their starting hp at like 10% of their full hp and kept increasing it as the game progresses
