What are your thoughts about Time magazine naming Bush person of the year? I think he deserves it.

I think Ken Jennings deserved it more. Big brain, indeed.... tongue.gif

I disagree with it. What did he do that would make him the man of the year aside from winning the presidency?

I don't know about you guys, but this quote really reminds me of Bush.

"Of course the people don't want war... That is understood. But... it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
- Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg trials, 1946 from "Nuremberg Diary," by G. M. Gilbert.

He was a censored.gif , that's what he did. Being named person of the year isn't necessarily a good thing. Adolph Hitler and I believe Joseph Stalin both claimed the title some years ago.

Ah true. I forgot that Time's man of the year doesn't necessarilly mean "Good Person of the Year," but instead it means "The most talked about person of the year." In that case, I think he is the man of the year, but not for good reasons.

And if you really think about it though, all of Hitler's supporters thought what he did was good along with Stalin's bolsheviks. So technically I guess everyone's enemy has a few friends, and therefore anyone can be seen as good. Crap, I need to stop contradicting myslef before my brain explodes.

Kind of like the terrorist on 9/11, they are viewed as honorable war heros to those who hate America.

Maybe Billie Joe and Mr. Moore, but the rest of your list sucks.

Well actually the entire list sux

Ok, so not Billie Joe... I could see Michael Moore as person of the year though.

Yeah, in hindsight, that list I composed sucked. Michael Moore might be the only person on that list worthy of the title "Person of the Year"...

lol the word filers censored censored.gif Cheney

i think Bush should win for being able to dupe 68-odd million people into being stupid.

Yup. And I don't think Michael Moore should be person of the year. No one really cared about Fahrenheit 9/11 after the election was over if you think about it. I did enjoy it myself, but the basic truth is that the "Pro-Moore, Con-Bush fever" is all gone now that there's no use in fighting him. Its as if we all loved it while we cared about hating Bush, and then once he won again its like "Fahrenheit what? Oh that docuthing. Yeah it was okay..." and no one really remembers what it said. As they say, it was preaching to the choir.

Let's just pray more dumbasses don't follow Bush into the office of President of the United States.
