Spad writes "Secunia is reporting on three vulnerabilities in IE6 running on XP SP2. Any of these, in combination with an inappropriate behaviour where the ActiveX Data Object (ADO) model can write arbitrary files, can be exploited to compromise a user's system. Moreover, the vulnerability can be used to delete files from the user's system. Secunia says 'Solution: Use another product.'"

Even more reasons to switch to Mozilla products. And yes, I do consider this serious.

This isn't one of Microsofts strongest points. And IE is the main cause, I have found, of people I know re-formatting or having to get spyware removal software or scan for viruses.

Have it? You're using it right now.

Macs have none of these problems... Were Macs the majority, they would probably have more viruses/spy ware/junk than PC's.

Macs don't have any problems you should worry about because they just suck in general. tongue.gif

Ok I'm over that now. happy.gif
Seriously, how does one who knows practically nothing about computers(like myself) find out if that program is the one on the computer?

What a gay solution "use a different OS". Microsoft has the best OS for what it was made for right now.

What does that have to do with this thread? If you want people to see your map, upload it to our Downloads Database (linked at the top of the page) and post a detailed description of it with a link to the download (after it is cleared) in the Map Showcase Forum.

That's why you turn active x completely off.
No websites should be using it anyways

The only real solution is to use a more secure browser. Microsoft shouldn't be allowed to release such shoddy software as IE. Are they just a bunch of lazy, sloppy programmers? Do they think that people will use IE anyway because they try to brainwash people into thinking that IE is the internet? Are they getting bribes from companies that use spyware, to leave gaping security holes in IE?

Who knows. The only thing that I know is that you're better off with another browser. Don't let fanboyism cause you to use an impotent browser just for the sake of it.

I use Safari, although I have Firefox on here somewhere. I prefer Safari's interface.
