So many people went looking for the "Fountain of Youth". Yet if you ever read the book Tuck Everlasting you would know that immortality is more a curse than a gift. How can so many people be so stupid. Thoughts?

Life might get boring at some point, and not being able to die might actually be a curse, but I'd like to live forever and see what's happening around the world...

I wouldnt want to live forever, i mean come on life would get so boring i mean you could do everything or anything you want but after like 1000 years you would have done everything there is to do and it would be so boring you would be probably trying to kill your sell after about 100,000 years because you would be so bored

that would suck to live forever and heaven wouldent get boring because one day in heaven is a thousend on earth and how do you no youre going to heaven and who knows it might not exist........

I had to read that book in English a while ago, I didn't like it, but it kinda made you thinka bit.

The thing is that very few people would want to be around a decrepit old person that's over 1000 years old. =\ Unless they didn't look any different. However, you would be taken for scientific testing and all that stuff unless everyone lived forever, then there'd be a overpopulation bom and people would starve and stuff but never die.

Immortalilty must really suck now that I think about it, but I wouldn't mind living for an unnatually long amount of time,

Yea it would suck living on earth in our current states of being.

But as Drj12 mentioned, living forever in Heaven is different. You will be given a new mind, you will always be happy and you wont have the same mindset and thoughts you would have now. Once you go to heaven, you're like a new person. You'll remember nothing about earth and will just continue on with life in heaven.

Reason people don't want to live forever on Earth is because we can't always be happy all the time. Everyone's bound to bump into some hard times and mental break downs. We dont like living lives like that but all that will go away in heaven. It's hard to imagine yea, but you definately will not get bored living forever in heaven or think the place sux.

I would have to say no on this one. Living forever can be cool, however, you're destined to be alone forever as well. For each friend you make, they will die and you will continue to live on. Same with loved ones.

How can you make friends? Everyone will think that you sold yourself to the devil or something because you never get older.

i'd like to live for eternity, because it would probably take me a hundred or 2 years to explore the whole world by foot, and then by the time im done that, i'll have the knowledge to get the best job there is, get very rich, live to the fullest, help invent new stuff, etc. life can never get boring if you want it to.

ugh... simply don't tell them you have internal life and after 10 years when you don't get older leave them and get yourself new friends... after being alive so many time you'll be very cold hearted and it shouldn't be a problem.
Besides, it would be interesting having friends from all parts of the world, you'l know better that way what it's like in everywhere since you can travel whenever you want and you should be afraid of not having a job and starving to death since you can't die.

Having enternal life is being everything for everyone at everywhere always, and imo, that's the best thing a man can do.

The only bad thing about immortality would be if you were incapacitated and doomed to spend eternity buried alive.

But I'm not that kind of an emotional person, if my friends die I'll be sad for 1 day and get myself new friends the next day.
From the beggining everything is so sad because people are sorry for those who died, but everybody dies sometime so why are everybody so sad?
Being sad won't bring that person back.
Being sad won't help anybody.
Being sad will ruin your life.
Being emotional means being sad.
Imo, and you can tell me I'm a cold hearted basterd if that's what you think, you shouldn't care when someone dies.
If someone died - than he died, you have nothing to do about it.

You may be bored for the first 1000 years or so until they invent spaceships, but then there are a whole lot of planets out there in our galaxy.. and there are other galaxies, so you could spend forever searching among the planets and you wouldnt need food or anything.

I seriously want eternal life so that I could see the future and, literally everything. Space is infinite, and after 10,000 years, Earth might be boring, but you could just search elsewhere. And if I lived forever with a person of my choice, I would NEVER get bored.

I say that humans should be immortal. What i mean by immortal is that they can't die of age. It IS possible to die if u get killed though.

So this way, you can live as long as you want. If you've had enough, just kill yourself!

You wouldn't die from starvation, but it would be pretty uncomfortable.
