I personally beleive school starts way too early, they shuold make it start later.
Of course I know that school boards need to have a specific number of hours, however they could make school start later by cutting back on useless things: such as non-academic events.
And personally, I wouldn't mind staying later after school if it meant I got to sleep in.
So, do you think school starts too early, and if so what time do you think it should start?

Well when does urs start? Cuz mine definately starts WAY earlier than yours. At least i think so because you go to a canadian school.
Mine started August 16th but ends May 29th or something like that.
Doesn't that suck?

[center]My school was on block schedule, and started at 7:45 AM. Each class was 1:30 long, so you only had 4 classes each day. It really sucked, and I could NEVER wake up early enough to make it to school... My mom's an education consultant, or something, and she's been researching on this, and most non-school affiliated people say it does start too early.[/center]

That's exactly what my school does, except we start at 7:30. I've also heard that my school district is the first district in the state of Texas that goes back to school, around the beginning of August.. :\

My school starts at 8:25AM and we get out at 3:00PM, on fridays we start class at 8:50AM and get out at 1:50MP, i hate waking up in the morning sooo early and having to get ready and crap, why can't school start at like 10:00AM and end at 4:00PM, me i just sleep in even on school days because i won't go to school looking and acting tired, + sleep is health, school is knowledge, you NEED health to go to school.

I think starting time's for schools should stay same way as they are now. When i was at school it started at 8:30am end's at 3:30pm.
I was out of bed by 7am, had my bath 7:20, 7:30 had my breakfast, and all other stuff you need to do befor school. Leave at 7:40, and get to school by 8:20.
I think it teachs kids responsibility. If you have problemes getting out of bed in the morning, Go to bed alot sooner, and then you wont have problemes getting out of bed as your body has had its so many hours sleep. And if you still have problemes get an alarm clock or somthing.

I have to wake up 5:00 A.m. then get ready then I have 1 Hour and 30 mins to do any homework, or something, Once I get to school I usually have 15 mins, I get there at 7:40 when riding bus, My school starts at 7:55A.m. and ends at 2:25 P.M. when I rid the bus back home, I'll be home at 3:15 P.M. usually.

School starts too early, even if we only had another hour of sleep then that would probably make me do better work, plus the fact that there would be less tardies and such since there is more time to prepare and there will be less people sleeping in.

I get up at 5:30 to get all ready and stuff. But recently I've been sleeping in till 6:00 or so. School starts at 7:12 (Yes, they let us off the busses at that time).
I can't go to sleep earlier than 9:30 or 10:00. I just cant fall asleep, even if I meditate, hypnosis tapes... It all doesnt help. (But at least it keeps me relaxed, I haven't gotten mad at someone in forever!)

i think school starts way to early we (students) sleep in school more than we learn my school starts at 8:00 am and ends at 3:45PM and just to top it all of i have after school detention every day for the rest of the year and i used to be fine in school till my brother was killed by a car bomb in iraq i hate school it sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I start at 8:00AM and leave at 3:00PM but everyday(except on soem days) I have Track practice till ~6:00PM to ~7:00PM so pretty much I live at school.
Since I'm a junior I get priviledges and sometimes we get free period.
School starts way too early adn should start at 9:30AM. I once saw this at Discovery channel and they made an experiment with 200 students. 100 had school from 8 to 3 and the other 100 had from 9:30 to 4:30. Studies have shwon that from 9:30 to 4:30 student were sleeping less in classroom, were paying more attention, were less tired and were getting better grades.

But seriously, it doesnt matter what time I go to bed, I still want to sleep more. Last week I went to bed around 7, and was still super tired when I got up at 6:30.

You know, in the future i hope they make a replacement for school.
They should just invent these "knowledge pills." Which you must take daily. As you eat them, all the knowledge that you learn in school will be implanted into your mind. That would be tight!

Actually no. Why wouldnt you just take one pill and gain all your knowledge at once?
